Overview
The JTR Noesis 212RT is an extreme-output 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker engineered for reference home theater and high-performance audio systems where effortless dynamics, exceptional efficiency and controlled directivity are priorities. Combining dual 12-inch high-excursion woofers with JTR's neodymium coaxial compression driver mounted to a large wooden horn, the 212RT delivers the scale and impact of a professional cinema system with the point-source coherence required for critical listening.
With an extraordinary 101 dB sensitivity, 134 dB usable output and power handling up to 2,000 watts RMS program, the Noesis 212RT is capable of tremendous playback levels while maintaining substantial dynamic headroom.
Dual 12-Inch High-Excursion Woofers
The Noesis 212RT uses two 12-inch high-excursion neodymium woofers in a vented enclosure.
Each woofer provides 10 mm of Xmax each way, giving the 212RT substantial displacement and powerful midbass capability while maintaining the high efficiency central to the Noesis design.
A large front-firing port is engineered to minimize turbulence and compression during demanding high-output passages.
JTR rates the Noesis 212RT from:
35 Hz – 24 kHz ±3 dB
For a reference home theater, the 212RT can be paired with JTR Captivator subwoofers to create a system with tremendous output throughout the audible range and dedicated reproduction of the deepest low-frequency effects.
Coaxial Compression Driver
The Noesis 212RT employs a sophisticated neodymium coaxial compression driver with annular diaphragms for midrange and high-frequency reproduction.
The midrange and high-frequency sections are physically concentric and acoustically time aligned, allowing their output to behave as a coherent point source.
Rather than hearing separate drivers operating across different frequency ranges, the Noesis architecture is designed so the sound appears to originate from the same location.
Large Wooden 60° × 60° Horn
The coaxial compression driver is loaded by a substantial wooden horn with a symmetrical 60° × 60° coverage pattern.
Horn loading extends down to approximately 500 Hz, allowing the compression driver to reproduce an unusually broad portion of the audible spectrum.
The controlled 60-degree dispersion can be particularly valuable in dedicated theaters, where controlling the interaction between the loudspeaker and the room is an important part of achieving consistent performance across the listening area.
Exceptional 101 dB Sensitivity
One of the defining specifications of the Noesis 212RT is its 101 dB sensitivity at 2.0 volts in free air.
That level of efficiency allows the 212RT to produce substantial output from relatively modest amplifier power while preserving enormous headroom for transient peaks.
When paired with appropriately capable amplification, JTR rates the speaker for up to 2,000 watts RMS program power.
The result is a loudspeaker capable of moving from subtle detail to explosive cinema dynamics without requiring the drivers to operate continuously near their limits.
134 dB Usable Output
JTR rates the Noesis 212RT at an extraordinary 134 dB usable output, calculated from a 137 dB peak minus 3 dB of compression.
The midrange section itself is rated as capable of 145 dB, providing tremendous headroom through the critical vocal and effects region.
This makes the 212RT particularly well suited to larger dedicated theaters where realistic dynamics and reference-level playback are part of the system design.
Point-Source Architecture
JTR designed the Noesis platform around the concept of point-source reproduction.
The acoustically time-aligned drivers and physically concentric coaxial compression driver help maintain coherence through the crossover region, while the symmetrical horn provides controlled dispersion throughout the listening area.
This combination allows the 212RT to deliver the enormous dynamics associated with horn-loaded systems without abandoning imaging and spatial precision.
Designed for Reference Home Cinema
The Noesis 212RT's 35 Hz low-frequency extension makes it capable of substantial bass output on its own, but its extraordinary sensitivity and output capability make it especially attractive when used with dedicated subwoofers.
In a reference theater, the 212RT can concentrate on reproducing the main program material with tremendous dynamics while JTR Captivator subwoofers handle the deepest bass and infrasonic effects.
This approach can create a system with exceptional headroom across the entire audible spectrum.
Baltic Birch Construction
JTR builds the Noesis 212RT from 24 mm, 18-ply void-free Baltic Birch plywood rather than conventional MDF.
The enclosure is heavily braced to resist unwanted cabinet movement under high-output conditions, while the completely front-firing driver and port arrangement provides additional installation flexibility.
The cabinet is finished in Matte Black Paint and includes magnetically attached grilles.
Heavy-Duty Connectivity
The Noesis 212RT uses a substantial binding post capable of accepting cable up to 2 AWG.
Internally, the crossover incorporates quality polypropylene capacitors and perfect-lay inductors, supporting JTR's focus on high-output performance with low distortion.
