Overview

JTR Noesis 210RT | Dual 10" 3-Way Reference Tower Loudspeaker

The JTR Noesis 210RT is a high-output 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed to bring the dynamics, controlled directivity and point-source coherence of the Noesis platform into a considerably more compact tower. Combining dual 10-inch high-excursion woofers with JTR's neodymium coaxial compression driver and a large wooden 60° × 60° horn, the 210RT is equally at home in a serious two-channel system or a reference private cinema.

With a frequency response of 38 Hz to 24 kHz ±3 dB, 95 dB sensitivity and 128 dB usable output, the Noesis 210RT delivers exceptional dynamic capability while maintaining a relatively narrow 12.25-inch cabinet width.

Dual 10-Inch High-Excursion Woofers

The Noesis 210RT uses two 10-inch high-excursion woofers in a vented enclosure.

Each woofer provides an impressive 13.5 mm of Xmax each way, allowing the compact drivers to move substantial amounts of air while maintaining the speed and efficiency required for high-output music and cinema reproduction.

Large front-firing ports are designed to minimize turbulence and compression during demanding passages, while the vented enclosure extends bass response down to 38 Hz ±3 dB.

Coaxial Compression Driver

At the heart of the Noesis 210RT is JTR's neodymium coaxial compression driver with annular diaphragms.

The midrange and high-frequency elements are physically concentric and acoustically time aligned, allowing them to operate as a highly coherent source.

This approach helps preserve precise imaging and localization while providing the extraordinary output capability expected from a compression-driver-based system.

Large Wooden 60° × 60° Horn

The coaxial compression driver is loaded by a substantial wooden horn with a symmetrical 60° × 60° coverage pattern.

Horn loading extends down to approximately 500 Hz, allowing the compression driver to reproduce a remarkably broad portion of the audible spectrum.

The combination of symmetrical horn geometry and low crossover points is designed to provide consistent power response and controlled dispersion throughout the listening area.

95 dB Sensitivity

The Noesis 210RT is rated at 95 dB sensitivity at 2.0 volts in free air.

That efficiency allows the loudspeaker to reach substantial playback levels without demanding enormous amplifier power during everyday listening, while its ability to accommodate up to 2,000 watts RMS program power provides substantial headroom for demanding transient peaks.

Nominal impedance is 4 ohms.

128 dB Usable Output

JTR rates the Noesis 210RT at an exceptional 128 dB usable output, calculated from a 131 dB peak minus 3 dB for compression.

The midrange section itself is capable of 145 dB, providing tremendous headroom through the critical vocal, dialogue and effects region.

For large listening spaces and dedicated theaters, this level of output capability allows the system to reproduce dramatic changes in level without continually operating near the loudspeaker's limits.

38 Hz Bass Extension

Unlike a theater-specific loudspeaker intended to be crossed to a subwoofer relatively high in frequency, the Noesis 210RT provides meaningful standalone low-frequency extension.

Its rated response reaches:

38 Hz – 24 kHz ±3 dB

That makes the 210RT versatile enough for high-performance music reproduction while still providing tremendous midbass capability in a home theater.

For cinema systems, pairing the 210RT with JTR Captivator subwoofers allows the towers to concentrate on the main program material while dedicated subwoofers reproduce the deepest bass and infrasonic effects.

Compact Reference Tower

One of the 210RT's biggest advantages is the amount of performance JTR packages into a relatively narrow enclosure.

At:

43" H × 12.25" W × 16.5" D

the Noesis 210RT occupies considerably less visual and physical space than JTR's larger dual-12 and dual-15 reference towers.

The narrower cabinet makes it particularly attractive for high-performance systems where the scale and dynamics of a Noesis loudspeaker are desired without the physical presence of JTR's largest models.

Point-Source Architecture

JTR's Noesis platform is built around the concept of point-source reproduction.

The physically concentric coaxial compression driver and acoustic time alignment help create a coherent wavefront, while the controlled horn dispersion reduces unnecessary acoustic energy outside the intended listening area.

The result is a loudspeaker designed to combine tremendous dynamic capability with precise imaging and spatial definition.

Completely Front-Firing Design

The Noesis 210RT is completely front firing, including its drivers and large bass-reflex ports.

This provides greater flexibility when positioning the speaker within a listening room or integrating it into a dedicated private cinema.

For theater installations behind an acoustically transparent projection screen, the relatively shallow cabinet and front-firing architecture can make the 210RT particularly easy to incorporate.

Baltic Birch Construction

JTR constructs the Noesis 210RT from 24 mm, 18-ply void-free Baltic Birch plywood rather than conventional MDF.

The cabinet is heavily braced to withstand the mechanical forces generated during high-output playback while minimizing unwanted enclosure movement.

A durable Matte Black Paint finish and magnetically attached grille complete the purpose-built design.

High-Quality Crossover & Connectivity

The Noesis 210RT incorporates an improved crossover designed to reduce distortion further.

The network uses polypropylene capacitors and perfect-lay inductors, while a massive binding post accommodates speaker cable up to 2 AWG.

These details complement the high-output driver architecture and substantial enclosure construction rather than allowing the supporting components to become the limiting factor in the system.

JTR Noesis 210RT at The Grid HiFi

The JTR Noesis 210RT hits a compelling middle ground in the Noesis lineup. Its dual 10-inch woofers and relatively compact 43-inch-tall enclosure make it easier to integrate than JTR's larger reference towers, while the coaxial compression driver, 60° × 60° wooden horn and 128 dB usable output retain the extraordinary dynamics that define the Noesis platform.

For two-channel systems, the 38 Hz extension gives the 210RT substantial standalone low-frequency capability. In a reference home theater, pairing the 210RT with JTR Captivator subwoofers creates a system capable of tremendous dynamics while dedicated subs handle the lowest frequencies and infrasonic effects.

At The Grid HiFi in Houston, Texas, we can design complete JTR systems around the Noesis 210RT, including matching amplification, center and surround channels, Captivator subwoofers, surround processing, acoustic treatment and professional system calibration.
