Overview
JTR Noesis 110HT-SL | Slanted 10" Coaxial Home Theater Speaker
The JTR Noesis 110HT-SL is a compact, slanted high-output loudspeaker designed for serious home theater systems where reference-level dynamics need to extend beyond the front soundstage. Built around a 10-inch high-excursion coaxial driver with a 1-inch compression driver, the 110HT-SL delivers JTR's point-source approach in a remarkably compact enclosure designed for flexible cinema installation.
With 95 dB sensitivity, 124 dB usable output and power handling up to 750 watts RMS program, the Noesis 110HT-SL provides substantial dynamic capability for surround and immersive-audio applications without requiring a large enclosure.
Its slanted cabinet makes it particularly useful when the loudspeaker needs to be positioned above or below the listening area and acoustically aimed toward the seats.
10-Inch Coaxial Point-Source Driver
At the heart of the Noesis 110HT-SL is a 10-inch high-excursion midrange driver with a 1-inch compression driver mounted coaxially behind the acoustically transparent dust cover.
Rather than placing the high-frequency driver elsewhere on the cabinet, the two drivers are physically and acoustically concentric.
JTR also time aligns the drivers so their output appears to originate from the same location.
This point-source architecture helps maintain coherent imaging and consistent localization—particularly valuable for surround and immersive theater channels where effects need to move naturally around the listening area.
High-Excursion 10-Inch Driver
The 10-inch driver provides 5.5 mm of Xmax each way, giving the compact 110HT-SL considerably more displacement capability than its physical dimensions might suggest.
The combination of a substantial 10-inch driver and high-efficiency compression driver allows the speaker to maintain strong dynamics even when reproducing demanding cinema content.
80 Hz to 20 kHz Performance
JTR rates the Noesis 110HT-SL at:
80 Hz – 20 kHz ±3 dB in half space
This frequency range is particularly appropriate for a dedicated cinema speaker designed to operate alongside capable subwoofers.
Bass management can route the deepest frequencies to the system's subwoofers while the 110HT-SL concentrates on the surround, effects and directional information it is designed to reproduce.
95 dB Sensitivity
The Noesis 110HT-SL provides an impressive:
95 dB sensitivity at 2.83 volts in free air
That high efficiency allows the speaker to produce substantial output without requiring enormous amplifier power.
It also provides valuable dynamic headroom when several surround speakers are operating simultaneously during complex movie soundtracks.
124 dB Usable Output
JTR rates the Noesis 110HT-SL for:
124 dB usable output
with a calculated peak capability of 127 dB minus 3 dB for compression.
That is extraordinary output capability for a loudspeaker measuring only 14 inches square across its front face.
For large private cinemas or systems designed around high-output Noesis front channels, this capability allows the surround system to keep pace dynamically with the main soundstage.
Up to 750 Watts RMS Program Power
The Noesis 110HT-SL can accommodate amplification of up to:
750 watts RMS program
Its 8-ohm impedance also makes the 110HT-SL relatively amplifier friendly, an important consideration when a theater incorporates numerous surround and immersive-audio channels.
Purpose-Built Slanted Cabinet
The defining physical feature of the 110HT-SL is its slanted enclosure.
Instead of requiring additional mounting hardware simply to aim a conventional rectangular speaker toward the listening area, the enclosure geometry itself helps facilitate directional placement.
This makes the 110HT-SL especially useful for surround, rear-surround and elevated theater-channel applications where the speaker must be mounted away from ear level but directed toward the audience.
Compact 14" × 14" × 9" Enclosure
The Noesis 110HT-SL measures just:
14" H × 14" W × 9" D
and weighs approximately 32 pounds.
The shallow 9-inch depth makes it substantially easier to integrate into a purpose-built private cinema than many conventional high-output loudspeakers.
This compact footprint is particularly valuable when designing systems with multiple surround channels where physical speaker depth can quickly become an installation constraint.
Completely Front-Firing
The Noesis 110HT-SL is completely front firing, giving system designers additional freedom when positioning the loudspeaker close to theater walls and architectural structures.
Combined with its shallow cabinet and slanted geometry, the design is particularly well suited to sophisticated custom cinema installations.
Baltic Birch Construction
JTR constructs the Noesis 110HT-SL from 18 mm, 13-ply void-free Baltic Birch plywood rather than conventional MDF.
The rigid enclosure helps control unwanted cabinet movement while providing the structural strength required for a compact loudspeaker capable of exceptionally high output.
The cabinet receives a non-light-reflective matte black lacquer finish, an especially useful feature when the speaker is installed inside a dark dedicated theater.
High-Quality Crossover & Connectivity
The Noesis 110HT-SL incorporates quality polypropylene capacitors and perfect-lay inductors within its crossover network.
A substantial binding post accommodates speaker cable up to 4 AWG, providing a robust connection for high-performance theater installations.
A magnetically attached grille completes the enclosure.
Built for a Complete JTR Cinema
The 110HT-SL makes particular sense as part of a complete Noesis-based theater.
Large Noesis models can provide the extraordinary dynamics required across the front soundstage, while compact 110HT-SL speakers extend that same high-output philosophy around the listening area.
Combined with JTR Captivator subwoofers, this allows the entire cinema—from the main channels through surrounds and bass—to be designed around substantial dynamic headroom.
