Overview
JTR Noesis 110HT | 10" Coaxial High-Output Home Theater Speaker
The JTR Noesis 110HT is an ultra-compact, high-output 2-way loudspeaker engineered for serious private cinema systems where exceptional dynamics need to come from a remarkably small enclosure. Built around a 10-inch high-excursion coaxial driver with a 1-inch compression driver, the Noesis 110HT brings JTR's point-source design philosophy to a cabinet measuring only 16 inches high, 11 inches wide and 8 inches deep.
With 95 dB sensitivity, 124 dB usable output and recommended amplification up to 750 watts RMS program, the 110HT delivers exceptional output capability for its size. It is particularly well suited to surround, rear-surround and other theater channels where compact dimensions, controlled placement and substantial dynamic headroom are priorities.
10-Inch Coaxial Point-Source Driver
At the heart of the Noesis 110HT is a 10-inch high-excursion coaxial driver with a 1-inch compression driver positioned behind the acoustically transparent dust cover.
Rather than mounting the high-frequency driver separately on the cabinet, JTR places the drivers physically and acoustically concentric with one another.
The drivers are also time aligned so their output appears to originate from the same location. This point-source architecture is designed to maintain coherent imaging and precise localization—particularly important in a multichannel cinema where effects need to move naturally around the listening area.
High-Excursion 10-Inch Driver
The 10-inch driver provides 5.5 mm of Xmax each way, giving the compact Noesis 110HT substantial displacement capability despite its small enclosure.
The combination of a high-excursion 10-inch driver and high-efficiency compression driver allows the 110HT to reproduce demanding cinema content at levels far beyond what its dimensions might suggest.
80 Hz to 20 kHz Performance
The Noesis 110HT is rated at:
80 Hz – 20 kHz ±3 dB in half space
This frequency range makes the 110HT ideally suited to a properly bass-managed home theater system.
Dedicated subwoofers can handle deep bass and LFE information while the Noesis 110HT concentrates on reproducing dialogue, music, surround effects and directional information with high efficiency and substantial headroom.
95 dB Sensitivity
JTR rates the Noesis 110HT at:
95 dB sensitivity at 2.83 volts in free air
That high efficiency allows the speaker to reach substantial playback levels without requiring excessive amplifier power.
In a large immersive theater using numerous surround channels, high sensitivity can also help preserve system headroom when multiple speakers are simultaneously reproducing demanding soundtrack information.
124 dB Usable Output
Despite its compact dimensions, JTR rates the Noesis 110HT for:
124 dB usable output
with a calculated peak of 127 dB minus 3 dB for compression.
This gives the 110HT the dynamic capability required to complement substantially larger Noesis front-channel loudspeakers rather than allowing the surround channels to become the limiting factor in a high-output cinema.
Up to 750 Watts RMS Program Power
The Noesis 110HT can accommodate amplification up to:
750 watts RMS program
and presents an 8-ohm nominal impedance.
That combination of high sensitivity, substantial power handling and an 8-ohm load makes the 110HT particularly useful in large multichannel installations where amplifier channel count and overall system power requirements need to be carefully balanced.
Remarkably Compact
One of the defining advantages of the Noesis 110HT is its size.
The enclosure measures only:
16" H × 11" W × 8" D
while weighing approximately 32 pounds.
The extremely shallow 8-inch depth makes it considerably easier to integrate into sophisticated private cinemas than many conventional high-output loudspeakers.
For surround and rear-channel installations, those compact dimensions can be especially valuable when speaker placement must work around columns, acoustic treatments, seating platforms and other architectural elements.
Built for High-Performance Surround Systems
The Noesis 110HT is a natural choice for side and rear surround channels in a JTR-based private cinema.
A theater using larger Noesis models across the front soundstage can demand considerably more output from its surrounds than conventional architectural or bookshelf speakers are designed to provide.
The 110HT extends JTR's high-output design philosophy around the listening area while remaining compact enough for practical installation.
Completely Front-Firing Design
The Noesis 110HT is completely front firing, giving designers additional flexibility when positioning the speaker close to walls or integrating it into custom theater structures.
There are no rear-firing elements that require substantial space behind the enclosure.
Combined with the cabinet's shallow 8-inch depth, this makes the 110HT particularly installation friendly.
Baltic Birch Construction
JTR constructs the Noesis 110HT from 18 mm, 13-ply void-free Baltic Birch plywood rather than conventional MDF.
The rigid enclosure provides the structural integrity needed for a compact loudspeaker capable of exceptionally high playback levels.
The cabinet is finished in non-light-reflective matte black lacquer, making it particularly appropriate for dark dedicated cinema environments.
High-Quality Crossover & Connectivity
The Noesis 110HT incorporates quality polypropylene capacitors and perfect-lay inductors within its crossover network.
A massive binding post accepts speaker cable up to 4 AWG, providing a substantial connection appropriate for a high-performance cinema installation.
A magnetically attached grille completes the enclosure.

JTR Noesis 110HT at The Grid HiFi
The JTR Noesis 110HT provides an impressive solution for private cinemas that need compact surround speakers capable of keeping pace with a genuinely high-output front soundstage. Its 10-inch coaxial point-source driver, 95 dB sensitivity and 124 dB usable output deliver serious dynamic capability from an enclosure only 8 inches deep.
It is especially compelling as a side or rear surround speaker in a complete JTR Noesis system, where larger Noesis loudspeakers can handle the front LCR channels while multiple 110HTs extend consistent high-output performance throughout the room and JTR Captivator subwoofers handle deep bass and infrasonic effects.
At The Grid HiFi in Houston, Texas, we design complete JTR private cinema systems including Noesis LCR and surround layouts, Captivator subwoofers, amplification, surround processing, acoustic treatment and professional system calibration.
