Overview
JTR Noesis 110HT-IW | 10" Coaxial In-Wall Home Theater Speaker
The JTR Noesis 110HT-IW is a high-output in-wall loudspeaker engineered for serious private cinema installations where reference-level dynamics need to disappear into the architecture. Built around a 10-inch high-excursion coaxial driver with a 1-inch compression driver, the 110HT-IW brings JTR's point-source design philosophy to a compact architectural format.
With 95 dB sensitivity, 124 dB usable output and recommended amplification up to 750 watts RMS program, the Noesis 110HT-IW delivers exceptional dynamic capability for an in-wall loudspeaker.
Its combination of a shallow 9-inch depth, completely front-firing architecture and high-output coaxial design makes it particularly well suited to custom theater walls, acoustically transparent screen systems and concealed surround-channel installations.
10-Inch Coaxial Point-Source Driver
The Noesis 110HT-IW uses a 10-inch high-excursion coaxial driver with a 1-inch compression driver positioned behind the acoustically transparent dust cover.
The drivers are physically and acoustically concentric rather than being mounted at separate locations on the baffle.
JTR also time aligns the drivers so their output appears to originate from the same location. This point-source architecture helps create coherent imaging and precise localization—important characteristics for both front-stage and surround-channel applications.
High-Excursion 10-Inch Driver
The 10-inch driver provides 5.5 mm of Xmax each way, giving the compact Noesis 110HT-IW substantial displacement capability.
This allows the speaker to maintain the dynamic character expected from the Noesis family while fitting into installations where a conventional cabinet loudspeaker would occupy valuable theater space.
80 Hz to 20 kHz Performance
JTR rates the Noesis 110HT-IW at:
80 Hz – 20 kHz ±3 dB in half space
This frequency range makes the 110HT-IW an excellent match for properly bass-managed home theater systems.
Dedicated subwoofers can reproduce the deepest bass and LFE information while the 110HT-IW concentrates on the frequencies required for dialogue, music, effects and immersive surround information.
95 dB Sensitivity
The Noesis 110HT-IW provides an impressive:
95 dB sensitivity at 2.83 volts in free air
High sensitivity is particularly valuable in a large multichannel cinema because it reduces the amplifier power required to achieve a given playback level while preserving additional headroom for transient peaks.
The 110HT-IW can accommodate amplification up to 750 watts RMS program.
124 dB Usable Output
JTR rates the Noesis 110HT-IW for an extraordinary:
124 dB usable output
with a calculated peak of 127 dB minus 3 dB for compression.
This gives system designers the ability to use a concealed architectural speaker without automatically sacrificing the high-output capability required to keep pace with powerful Noesis front channels.
For larger private cinemas, that distinction can be significant.
Purpose-Built for Architectural Cinema
The Noesis 110HT-IW is particularly compelling for theaters where loudspeakers need to be integrated into the architecture rather than placed visibly throughout the room.
Its 14" × 14" × 9" enclosure provides serious output from a relatively compact footprint, while its completely front-firing configuration makes it suitable for purpose-built wall structures and concealed speaker locations.
This allows a theater to maintain a clean architectural appearance without moving to conventional low-output architectural speakers.
Completely Front-Firing Design
The Noesis 110HT-IW is completely front firing.
That design is especially important in an architectural installation because the speaker does not depend on rear-firing ports or drivers that require significant clearance behind or around the enclosure.
For custom private cinema design, this gives the installer greater control over speaker-wall construction and placement.
A Serious Surround Speaker
The 110HT-IW is an excellent option for side and rear surround channels in a high-output JTR cinema.
In systems using larger Noesis models across the front soundstage, conventional architectural surround speakers can become the weak link in overall dynamic capability.
The 110HT-IW provides a way to maintain substantially greater output and headroom around the listening area while keeping the speakers visually integrated into the theater.
More Than a Surround Speaker
Although its compact dimensions make the 110HT-IW an obvious surround-channel solution, its output capability also opens the door to more ambitious system designs.
Multiple 110HT-IWs can be incorporated into highly concealed private cinema installations where consistent point-source behavior, high sensitivity and substantial dynamic capability are required across numerous channels.
The result is an architectural loudspeaker that is designed first around performance rather than simply around disappearing into the wall.
8-Ohm Impedance
The Noesis 110HT-IW has an 8-ohm nominal impedance, making it relatively amplifier friendly for a high-output cinema loudspeaker.
This can become particularly valuable in immersive systems incorporating numerous surround channels, where amplifier channel count and total system power requirements need to be considered together.
Baltic Birch Enclosure
Unlike many architectural speakers that rely on the wall cavity itself, the Noesis 110HT-IW uses a substantial enclosure constructed from 18 mm, 13-ply void-free Baltic Birch plywood.
The rigid enclosure gives JTR greater control over the acoustic environment surrounding the driver while helping minimize unwanted cabinet vibration.
A non-light-reflective matte black lacquer finish makes the speaker particularly appropriate for dark dedicated theater environments.
High-Quality Crossover & Connectivity
The Noesis 110HT-IW incorporates polypropylene capacitors and perfect-lay inductors within its crossover network.
A massive binding post accepts speaker cable up to 4 AWG, providing a robust connection appropriate for high-performance theater installations.
A magnetically attached grille completes the design.
