The JL Audio Gotham g213v2 is a flagship powered subwoofer engineered for reference two-channel audio systems and dedicated home theaters. Combining two ultra-long-throw 13.5-inch drivers, a 4,500-watt amplifier and an acoustically optimized sealed enclosure, the Gotham delivers tremendous low-frequency output with the precision required for critical music listening.

Its distinctive curved cabinet houses an advanced driver and amplifier system capable of reproducing the deepest frequencies in demanding movie soundtracks and high-resolution music recordings. JL Audio's Digital Automatic Room Optimization (D.A.R.O.) system helps integrate that performance into real-world listening environments, while extensive crossover, phase and level controls allow precise matching with high-end loudspeakers and home theater processors.

Twin 13.5-Inch Drivers

At the heart of the Gotham g213v2 are two purpose-built 13.5-inch drivers designed to move extraordinary volumes of air while maintaining precise control.

Together, they provide 214.7 square inches of effective piston area and 773 cubic inches of effective displacement. This substantial displacement allows the Gotham to reproduce demanding low-frequency passages without relying on a large ported enclosure.

JL Audio's advanced driver engineering is designed to maintain controlled cone movement across the drivers' extended excursion range, preserving bass definition during both sustained low-frequency effects and rapid musical transients.

The dual-driver configuration also provides the output capability needed for large listening rooms and high-performance private cinemas.

4,500-Watt Amplifier

The Gotham's integrated amplifier delivers 4,500 watts RMS of short-term power, providing the substantial drive required by its two long-excursion woofers.

Its amplifier and driver system is engineered to reproduce deep bass at demanding playback levels while maintaining the control necessary for accurate musical reproduction.

With an anechoic frequency response of 19–112Hz (±1.5dB) and extension to 14Hz at −10dB, the Gotham can reproduce frequencies well below the range of conventional full-range loudspeakers.

Digital Automatic Room Optimization

Even a powerful reference subwoofer is affected by the acoustics of its listening environment. The Gotham g213v2 incorporates JL Audio's Digital Automatic Room Optimization system to address this challenge.

D.A.R.O. uses an included laboratory-grade calibration microphone to measure the subwoofer's in-room response. Its automatic 18-band digital equalizer then applies corrective adjustments to help reduce the effects of room-induced frequency peaks.

The system can be defeated when correction is handled by an external processor or a professionally designed room-calibration system.

For demanding home theater installations, D.A.R.O. provides a useful tool for achieving controlled, consistent bass performance at the primary listening position.

Advanced Bass Management and System Integration

The Gotham provides extensive controls for integrating its output with reference loudspeakers, stereo preamplifiers and multichannel home theater processors.

Its adjustable low-pass crossover operates from 30Hz to 130Hz, with selectable 12dB- and 24dB-per-octave slopes. The filter can also be defeated when crossover management is handled by an external processor.

Variable phase adjustment, switchable polarity and Extreme Low Frequency trim provide additional control over the Gotham's interaction with the main loudspeakers and listening room.

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs accommodate a wide range of audio systems. A dedicated balanced XLR slave output also allows additional compatible JL Audio subwoofers to be integrated into a larger system.

Curved, Sealed Cabinet

The Gotham's enclosure is more than a visual statement. Its curved, non-parallel walls form a rigid sealed cabinet designed to support the performance of its dual 13.5-inch drivers.
