Dual 12-Inch W7-HT Drivers

The f212v2 employs two purpose-built 12-inch W7-HT drivers developed around JL Audio's advanced woofer technology. Each features an ultra-long-throw design engineered to move substantial volumes of air while maintaining linearity and control.

Proprietary W-Cone construction combines lightweight mineral-filled polypropylene skins in a rigid cone structure. JL Audio's DMA-optimized motor design helps maintain consistent performance throughout the driver's extended excursion range, while its OverRoll surround maximizes usable cone area.

Together, the two drivers provide 168 square inches of effective piston area and 574 cubic inches of effective displacement, giving the f212v2 the output capability needed for demanding movie soundtracks and full-range music reproduction.

3,600-Watt Amplifier

The f212v2's integrated switching amplifier delivers up to 3,600 watts RMS of short-term power. A large toroidal transformer and JL Audio's amplifier circuitry provide the current and control required to drive both long-excursion woofers.

This combination enables substantial low-frequency output while retaining the speed and precision required to reproduce bass instruments, percussion and complex cinematic effects.

With an anechoic frequency response of 20–97Hz (±1.5dB) and extension to 15Hz at −10dB, the f212v2 is engineered to reproduce low-frequency content that extends well below the range of conventional loudspeakers.

Digital Automatic Room Optimization

Even a powerful subwoofer must contend with the acoustics of its listening environment. JL Audio's D.A.R.O. system addresses this challenge with an onboard 18-band digital equalizer and an included calibration microphone.

During calibration, D.A.R.O. measures the subwoofer's in-room response and applies corrective equalization to reduce the influence of room-induced frequency peaks. This helps deliver more consistent bass performance at the listening position.

The system is particularly useful in home theaters and listening rooms where placement options are constrained by furniture, room dimensions or architectural requirements.

Precision Bass Integration

The f212v2 offers extensive controls for integrating its output with main loudspeakers and surround sound systems.

Its adjustable low-pass filter provides selectable 12dB- and 24dB-per-octave slopes, with crossover frequencies from 30Hz to 130Hz. Variable phase, switchable polarity and Extreme Low Frequency trim provide additional tools for matching the subwoofer to the room and the rest of the system.

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs accommodate a wide range of stereo preamplifiers and home theater processors. A balanced output supports master/slave configurations when integrating additional compatible JL Audio subwoofers.

Sealed Cabinet and High-Gloss Finish

The f212v2 uses a sealed enclosure measuring approximately 32 inches tall, with a relatively narrow footprint of less than 15 inches.
