With 84 square inches of effective piston area and 287 cubic inches of effective displacement, the f112v2 is engineered to move substantial volumes of air while maintaining control and minimizing distortion.

1,800-Watt Amplification

A powerful switching amplifier delivers up to 1,800 watts RMS of short-term power to the f112v2's long-excursion driver.

Its design incorporates a large toroidal transformer and JL Audio's proprietary amplifier circuitry, providing the power and control needed to reproduce demanding bass transients.

The combination of amplifier power, driver excursion and sealed-enclosure construction gives the f112v2 an anechoic frequency response of 21–119Hz (±1.5dB), with low-frequency extension reaching 17Hz at −10dB.

This performance makes it suitable for reproducing the impact of cinematic soundtracks while preserving the articulation and tonal detail required for high-quality music playback.

Digital Automatic Room Optimization

The acoustic characteristics of a room can have a substantial effect on subwoofer performance. JL Audio's Digital Automatic Room Optimization (D.A.R.O.) system is designed to address these challenges.

Using a calibration microphone and onboard digital signal processing, D.A.R.O. measures the subwoofer's response at the listening position and applies corrective equalization to reduce the effects of room-induced frequency peaks.

This helps the f112v2 deliver more consistent bass performance in rooms where furniture placement, architectural features and listening positions influence low-frequency response.

Its adjustable low-pass crossover operates from 30Hz to 130Hz, with selectable 12dB- and 24dB-per-octave slopes. The filter can also be defeated when bass management is handled by an external AV processor or crossover.

Variable phase adjustment from 0° to 280°, switchable polarity and Extreme Low Frequency trim provide additional control over the subwoofer's response.

These adjustments allow the f112v2 to be integrated into systems ranging from compact two-channel setups to sophisticated multichannel home theaters.

Balanced Connectivity and Multiple-Subwoofer Integration
