JL Audio E-Sub E112 12

The Garmin link is for the JL Audio E-Sub e112-GLOSS, the 12-inch, high-gloss black version, part number 010-03313-00. This is a different model from the Fathom and Gotham subwoofers we've just covered.

Product Description

Powerful, articulate bass. Compact sealed design. Precision analog control.

The JL Audio E-Sub e112 is a 12-inch powered subwoofer engineered to bring deep, controlled bass to high-performance stereo systems and home theaters. Combining a long-excursion driver with a 1,500-watt amplifier, the e112 delivers substantial low-frequency output from a compact sealed enclosure.

Its advanced driver engineering, studio-grade analog signal processing and flexible connectivity make it suitable for both music-focused listening rooms and multichannel entertainment systems. Finished in high-gloss black with a removable fabric grille, the e112 offers a refined appearance without compromising bass performance.

12-Inch Long-Excursion Driver

The E-Sub e112 employs a purpose-built 12-inch driver designed to deliver extended, linear cone movement while minimizing distortion.

JL Audio's proprietary motor, suspension and cone modeling technologies optimize the driver's behavior throughout its excursion range. Its deep motor structure provides generous spacing between the suspension elements, contributing to mechanical stability during demanding low-frequency passages.

A Vented Reinforcement Collar (VRC) strengthens the connection between the cone, spider and voice coil while directing cooling airflow over the voice coil windings. JL Audio's Floating Cone Attach Method (FCAM) helps maintain accurate surround geometry and voice coil alignment.

Together, these technologies allow the e112 to reproduce powerful bass effects while retaining the articulation needed for demanding musical recordings.

1,500-Watt Amplification

The e112's integrated amplifier delivers 1,500 watts RMS of short-term power, providing the drive required for its long-excursion woofer.

Its sealed enclosure and high-power amplifier work together to reproduce low frequencies with control and substantial dynamic capability. With an anechoic frequency response of 22–118Hz (±1.5dB) and extension to 17Hz at −10dB, the e112 is designed to reproduce deep bass information that conventional full-range loudspeakers may struggle to deliver.

Whether reproducing acoustic bass, electronic music or demanding cinematic effects, the e112 provides a foundation for a full-range listening experience.

Studio-Grade Analog Signal Processing

The E-Sub e112 provides extensive onboard controls for integrating its output with main loudspeakers and the listening room.

Its variable low-pass crossover operates from 25Hz to 130Hz, using a 24dB-per-octave Linkwitz-Riley alignment. The filter can be defeated when crossover management is handled by an external home theater processor.

Variable phase adjustment from 0° to 280° and switchable polarity allow the e112's output to be aligned with the main speakers. A continuously variable level control provides further flexibility when balancing the subwoofer with the rest of the system.

All signal processing is performed in the analog domain, making the e112 suitable for applications where low signal latency is important.

Flexible Stereo and Home Theater Connectivity

JL Audio - E-Sub e112-GLOSS - The Source AV

The e112 accommodates both line-level and speaker-level connections, allowing it to integrate with a wide range of audio equipment.

Stereo RCA inputs connect to compatible preamplifiers and home theater processors, while dedicated high-level inputs allow connection to suitable amplifier speaker outputs. Selectable input grounding provides additional installation flexibility.

Stereo RCA outputs can operate in high-pass or pass-through mode. In a two-channel system, the high-pass option allows low-frequency content to be redirected from the main loudspeakers. In pass-through mode, the outputs can feed an additional compatible subwoofer, making it easier to expand an existing system.

Compact Sealed Cabinet

The e112's sealed enclosure measures just 16.23 inches high and 15.5 inches wide, providing substantial bass capability without the footprint of a larger subwoofer.

Its high-gloss black finish and removable fabric grille allow it to integrate into sophisticated listening rooms, media rooms and dedicated home theaters.

With automatic signal-sensing power operation and accessible adjustment controls, the e112 combines powerful low-frequency performance with practical installation flexibility.
