IsoTek V5 Syncro Uni – DC Blocking & Mains Sine Wave Correction
The IsoTek V5 Syncro Uni series is designed to address one of the more difficult power-related issues in high-performance audio systems: DC contamination on the AC mains. Available in V5 Syncro Uni 10 and V5 Syncro Uni 16 versions, these units use dedicated DC-cancelling circuitry to rebalance the mains sine wave around the zero-volt line, helping dramatically reduce or eliminate transformer hum, vibration, excess heat, and unwanted micro-resonance.
Unlike a conventional power conditioner, Syncro Uni focuses specifically on DC offset and mains imbalance. It can be used directly with a single component or positioned before an existing IsoTek power cleaner or distribution system, allowing downstream equipment to benefit from a more symmetrical AC waveform.

V5 Syncro Uni 10
The V5 Syncro Uni 10 is the more compact model and is part of IsoTek’s Discovery Series. It is designed for systems where DC cancellation is needed without the higher current capability of the larger Uni 16. IsoTek states that the V5 generation provides approximately 60% greater current capability than the previous design, with an internal peak-current capability of 16A.
Its internal circuit uses a minimum of 16 high-grade capacitors providing approximately 75,000µF of total capacitance. IsoTek also specifies a 500A peak surge-protection buffer within the upgraded circuit.

The V5 Syncro Uni 16 moves into IsoTek’s Performance Series and is intended for larger, more current-demanding systems. IsoTek states that this generation offers approximately 260% greater current capability than the earlier design, with the internal circuit capable of handling peak current up to 32A.
The larger circuit uses at least 36 high-grade copper/silver capacitors providing approximately 169,000µF of total capacitance. IsoTek designed the circuit board to operate comfortably at substantially higher current than its nominal rating while restricting the standard version to a 16A input for consistent long-term performance.

How Syncro Uni Works
DC contamination can cause the magnetic core inside a component’s transformer to become partially saturated. That can result in audible hum, mechanical vibration, unnecessary heat, and reduced transformer efficiency.
Syncro Uni’s DC-cancelling network is designed to restore a more balanced AC waveform before it reaches the connected component. IsoTek specifically emphasizes that the circuit is designed not to restrict dynamics or bass response; reducing transformer saturation can instead allow an amplifier’s power supply to draw current more effectively.
Use It with a Single Component or Complete System
The Syncro Uni can be connected directly ahead of equipment such as an integrated amplifier, power amplifier, preamplifier, DAC, streamer, or other electronics using internal power transformers.
It can also be installed before an IsoTek power conditioner or distribution system, providing DC cancellation before the AC supply reaches the rest of the connected equipment.

Choose the V5 Syncro Uni 10 for source components, integrated systems, and applications where a compact DC-blocking solution provides sufficient current capacity.
