Designed Specifically for Turntable Isolation

A turntable cartridge responds to extremely small movements in the record groove. Unfortunately, that also makes an analog playback system susceptible to vibrations traveling through the surrounding structure.

The DELOS 2216W1 creates an isolated platform between the turntable and the surface supporting it. Its integrated isolators are designed to absorb vibration rather than allowing that energy to travel through—or reflect back into—the turntable. IsoAcoustics

1¾-Inch Walnut Butcher Block

The 2216W1 features a substantial 1¾-inch (45mm) walnut butcher block. The dark natural appearance and visible grain of walnut give the platform a furniture-grade aesthetic that complements premium turntables and HiFi systems.

Individual pieces of walnut are selected and laminated together, creating a strong, stable platform with natural variations in grain and coloration. No two DELOS walnut platforms will look exactly alike.

Six Integrated IsoAcoustics Isolators

Rather than placing a conventional wooden platform on rubber feet, the DELOS incorporates six purpose-designed IsoAcoustics isolators directly into the butcher block.

The isolation system is based on technology developed for the company's GAIA Series. Each isolator incorporates multiple elements engineered to work together so there is no single direct mechanical path between the audio component and the supporting surface.

The isolators are partially recessed and secured directly to the butcher block, creating a complete isolation system rather than a platform and feet assembled separately. IsoAcoustics

100-Pound Weight Capacity

The DELOS 2216W1 supports turntables and audio components weighing up to 100 lbs (45.4kg), making it the highest-capacity configuration in the DELOS 2216 range.

Interestingly, the thinner W1 actually carries a higher recommended load than the thicker 2216W2. IsoAcoustics tunes its isolators around the combined mass of the butcher block and component. Because the 3-inch W2 platform itself has greater mass, its specified component capacity is 90 lbs, while the 1¾-inch W1 is rated for 100 lbs. IsoAcoustics

Ideal for Turntables with External Motors

The large 22 × 16-inch surface provides enough room for many substantial audiophile turntables and can be particularly useful with designs incorporating an external motor.

IsoAcoustics specifically recommends DELOS when a turntable uses an external motor because the platform can support both the turntable and motor on the same isolated surface and at the same height. IsoAcoustics

Isolation for More Than Turntables

While DELOS was developed with vinyl playback in mind, the 2216W1 can also be used beneath other vibration-sensitive HiFi components. Tube amplifiers and preamplifiers are particularly relevant applications because tubes can be susceptible to mechanically induced vibration and microphonics.
