Overview
IsoAcoustics DELOS 1815M2 | Maple Turntable Isolation Platform
The IsoAcoustics DELOS 1815M2 is a premium turntable isolation platform combining a substantial 3-inch-thick maple butcher block with four integrated IsoAcoustics isolators. Measuring 18 inches wide by 15 inches deep and supporting turntables or audio components up to 55 lbs, the 1815M2 provides a compact, high-mass foundation designed to reduce structure-borne vibration and resonance.
Developed specifically with turntables in mind, the DELOS combines the mass and rigidity of solid maple with IsoAcoustics’ patented isolation technology. The result is an elegant mechanical isolation solution for analog systems where unwanted vibration from floors, furniture, loudspeakers and equipment racks can interfere with playback.
3-Inch Hard Maple Butcher Block
The defining feature of the DELOS 1815M2 is its 3-inch (76mm) thick maple butcher block.
The additional mass isn't simply cosmetic. IsoAcoustics designed the DELOS so the mass of the butcher block and supported component work together with the integrated isolators to diminish structural vibration and resonance.
Hard maple also provides a clean, natural appearance that complements both traditional and contemporary turntables. Individual pieces of wood are selected and laminated together, meaning each platform has its own natural variations in grain and coloration.
The surface is protected by a urethane-based satin finish designed to resist stains and most solvents.
Four Integrated IsoAcoustics Isolators
The DELOS 1815M2 incorporates four IsoAcoustics isolators directly into the maple butcher block.
Derived from technology developed for the company's GAIA Series, the isolators are designed to decouple the turntable from its supporting surface rather than allowing mechanical energy to travel directly between the two.
The isolators are partially recessed and securely attached to the platform, creating a complete engineered isolation system rather than simply placing a heavy butcher block on conventional rubber feet.
Designed for Turntable Isolation
Turntables are particularly sensitive to mechanical vibration. The cartridge and stylus are designed to detect extremely small movements within the record groove, making isolation from unwanted external vibration especially important in a high-performance analog system.
The DELOS 1815M2 is designed to help reduce vibrations reaching the turntable through:
- Floors and footfalls
- Equipment racks and furniture
- Loudspeaker-generated vibration
- Other components in the system
- Structural resonance within the listening environment
By creating an isolated foundation underneath the entire turntable, DELOS addresses vibration before it reaches the turntable chassis.
Ideal for Turntables with External Motors
DELOS is also particularly useful with turntables using an external motor.
Provided both pieces fit within the 18 × 15-inch platform, the turntable and motor can sit together on the same isolated surface. This keeps the motor and turntable at the same relative height while isolating the entire assembly from the supporting furniture.
For larger turntables or designs requiring more room around an external motor, the 22 × 16-inch DELOS models provide additional surface area.
55-Pound Weight Capacity
The DELOS 1815M2 is designed for turntables and audio components weighing up to 55 lbs (24.9kg).
IsoAcoustics' weight ratings are based on the optimal operating range of the integrated isolation system. Because the M2 uses the heavier 3-inch butcher block, its rated component capacity is lower than the thinner 1815M1.
For components exceeding 55 lbs, the 1815M1 supports up to 65 lbs, while the larger 2216 models accommodate even heavier equipment.
Maple Construction
IsoAcoustics offers DELOS platforms in both Maple and Walnut. The difference between the two woods is primarily aesthetic rather than isolation performance.
Maple provides a lighter natural appearance and has a Janka hardness rating of 1450, making it harder than the Walnut version. This makes the 1815M2 an attractive match for turntables and listening rooms featuring lighter woods or contemporary finishes.
More Than a Turntable Platform
While the DELOS was developed primarily for turntables, its isolation technology can also benefit other vibration-sensitive audio components.
Potential applications include tube amplifiers, tube preamplifiers, phono stages, CD/SACD players and other appropriately sized HiFi electronics. Tube equipment can be particularly relevant because vacuum tubes may be susceptible to mechanically induced vibration and microphonics.

DELOS 1815M2 vs. 1815M1
The 1815M2 features the thicker 3-inch maple butcher block and supports components up to 55 lbs, while the 1815M1 uses a 1¾-inch maple block and supports up to 65 lbs.
Both models measure 18 × 15 inches and incorporate four IsoAcoustics isolators. The M2 provides the additional mass and visual presence of the 3-inch platform, while the M1 offers greater component weight capacity.
