The Goldmund Telos 9800 represents the pinnacle of Goldmund amplification—a reference monoblock power amplifier created to deliver extraordinary power, speed, control, and transparency while preserving the integrity and emotional depth of the musical performance.

Building upon decades of Telos development and the foundation established by the Telos 8800, the Telos 9800 introduces a completely redesigned architecture. For the first time, Goldmund separates the power supply and amplification stages into two distinct yet interconnected enclosures, allowing each section to operate under optimized conditions while creating the amplifier’s striking sculptural form.

At the heart of the Telos 9800 is a completely redesigned power stage featuring next-generation MOSFET output devices, high-performance custom transformers, increased energy reserves, and Goldmund’s Controlled Energy Management System. The result is immense dynamic capability combined with exceptional transient response and loudspeaker control.

Delivering 1,560 watts RMS into 8 ohms, the Telos 9800 increases output to 2,520 watts into 4 ohms, 3,250 watts into 2.7 ohms, and 4,180 watts into 1.4 ohms. A damping factor of 900 gives the amplifier exceptional command over even highly demanding loudspeakers, while distortion remains below 0.005% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz under Goldmund's specified test conditions.

The engineering extends well beyond power. Goldmund developed the mechanical architecture, amplification stages, energy management, material selection, vibration control, and thermal management as a unified system. Precision-machined aluminum construction, Goldmund Mechanical Grounding, and natural-convection cooling provide the stable mechanical and electrical environment required for reference-level performance.

Developed in collaboration with designer Cécile Barani, the Telos 9800 translates its engineering architecture into an equally distinctive physical design. The power supply and amplification sections form two sculptural volumes separated by a subtle gold plate, while a redesigned digital display is integrated into the amplifier's clean, understated exterior.

Conceived, engineered, and assembled in Switzerland, the Telos 9800 is the most advanced expression of Goldmund's amplification research to date—designed not simply to produce extraordinary power, but to reveal greater dynamics, scale, texture, nuance, and presence from the music.
