For this product in particular, I would make the architecture crystal clear because the price and appearance could cause customers to assume it is an all-in-one network player.

The Eidos Streamer does not provide a conventional built-in DAC with RCA or XLR analog outputs. Its purpose is to act as an exceptionally engineered digital music server, Roon Core and streaming transport.

That makes it a natural partner for a high-end external DAC or digital preamplifier, or a direct digital source for compatible Goldmund active loudspeakers.
