Focal Sopra Surround Be Bipolar Surround Speakers

2-Way Sealed Bipolar Surround Speaker • Dual Pure Beryllium Tweeters • Dual 6.5" W-Cone Drivers • Bi/Twin Technology • 91dB Sensitivity • Made in France

The Focal Sopra Surround Be is a reference-grade, wall-mounted surround loudspeaker engineered for high-performance home theater and multichannel audio systems. Featuring two 6.5-inch W-cone bass/midrange drivers, two pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeters and Focal's exclusive Bi/Twin architecture, Surround Be delivers detailed effects, precise spatial imaging and consistent tonal performance throughout the listening environment.

Designed and manufactured in France, Surround Be incorporates the same advanced driver materials used throughout Focal's Sopra loudspeaker collection. Its compact, sealed enclosure and flexible operating modes make it an ideal solution for sophisticated 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound systems.

Exclusive Bi/Twin Surround Technology

Focal's proprietary Bi/Twin architecture allows Surround Be to operate in two configurations.

Bipolar Mode: Both driver arrays operate together, creating a spacious soundfield suited to conventional 5.1 surround installations.

Double Monopolar Mode: The two driver arrays can operate independently through separate speaker inputs, allowing one pair of Surround Be loudspeakers to reproduce four surround channels in a compatible 7.1 system.

This flexibility provides extensive installation options while reducing the number of individual speaker enclosures required in a dedicated theater.

Dual Pure Beryllium Inverted Dome Tweeters

Each Surround Be incorporates two 27mm pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeters, delivering extended high-frequency reproduction up to 40kHz.

Beryllium's exceptional rigidity and low mass allow the tweeters to reproduce delicate effects, ambient information and fast transients with excellent precision.

The inverted dome architecture also supports controlled dispersion, helping surround effects transition naturally throughout the listening area.

Dual 6.5-Inch W-Cone Bass/Midrange Drivers

Surround Be features two 6.5-inch Focal W-cone bass/midrange drivers.

Each diaphragm uses a sandwich construction combining a lightweight foam core with glass-fiber layers. This architecture balances rigidity, low mass and internal damping to minimize unwanted resonance.

The result is controlled midrange reproduction, clear effects and consistent tonal integration with compatible Focal Sopra front and center speakers.

Sealed Cabinet and Wall-Mounted Installation

The sealed acoustic enclosure is designed for controlled performance and convenient wall placement.

With a depth of approximately 7.5 inches, Surround Be integrates into dedicated theaters and premium living spaces without requiring large freestanding rear loudspeakers.

Its rigid construction, fixed protective grilles and Black Lacquer finish complement the Sopra collection.

Designed for Reference Multichannel Audio

Surround Be is engineered for demanding movie soundtracks, multichannel music and immersive home theater systems.

Its 91dB sensitivity, 40–200W recommended amplifier power and 72Hz–40kHz frequency response make it suitable for premium surround processors and multichannel amplification.

Because impedance varies with the selected operating mode, amplifier compatibility and channel configuration should be considered during system design.
