The Focal Kanta N°3 is the reference floorstanding loudspeaker in the Kanta family, combining serious bass capability, Focal's natural-sounding Flax drivers, and the resolution of a pure Beryllium tweeter.

With dual 8-inch Flax woofers, a dedicated 6.5-inch Flax midrange, and Focal's IAL3 pure Beryllium inverted-dome tweeter, Kanta N°3 has the scale to fill a large listening room while maintaining the detail, imaging, and midrange clarity that make Kanta such an interesting step up in the Focal lineup.

It's equally capable as the foundation of a serious two-channel system or as the front left and right speakers in a reference-level Focal home theater.

Dual 8-Inch Flax Woofers

Kanta N°3 uses two 8-inch Flax woofers with Focal's NIC motor technology.

The larger bass section gives the N°3 considerably more authority and scale than the smaller Kanta models.

Frequency response reaches 33Hz ±3dB, with useful low-frequency extension down to 26Hz.

That's real bass from a passive floorstanding loudspeaker.

For many two-channel systems, Kanta N°3 can provide all the low-frequency extension you need without adding a subwoofer. For home theater—or listeners who want true infrasonic extension—we can integrate high-performance subwoofers properly around them.

Focal Flax Cone Technology

Focal's patented Flax sandwich cone uses high-quality French flax fiber positioned between two thin layers of fiberglass.

It sounds unusual until you understand what Focal is trying to accomplish.

A great loudspeaker cone needs to be light, rigid, and well damped. Flax gives Focal an excellent balance of all three.

The result is fast, controlled bass and a midrange that sounds natural rather than overly processed or colored.

Dedicated Midrange with TMD

Kanta N°3 uses a dedicated 6.5-inch Flax midrange driver with Focal's TMD — Tuned Mass Damper — suspension.

TMD technology helps stabilize the driver's suspension and reduce unwanted resonance, particularly through the frequencies where the human ear is extremely sensitive.

That translates directly into better reproduction of vocals, guitars, piano, strings, and the small details that give instruments their character.

NIC Motor Technology

Focal's NIC — Neutral Inductance Circuit — technology is designed to stabilize the magnetic field surrounding the driver as the voice coil moves.

A more stable magnetic field means the driver behaves more consistently throughout its movement.

The benefit is greater precision, better control, and lower distortion—especially when the system is being pushed.

Pure Beryllium Tweeter

High frequencies are handled by Focal's 27mm IAL3 pure Beryllium inverted-dome tweeter.

Beryllium combines extremely low mass with exceptional rigidity, allowing the tweeter to respond quickly while extending all the way to 40kHz.

It's one of the defining technologies of Focal's higher-end loudspeakers.

The benefit isn't simply more treble. It's the ability to reproduce fine detail, ambience, spatial information, and transient attack without the tweeter becoming the thing you notice.

Focus Time Driver Alignment

The Kanta N°3 cabinet isn't shaped that way just to look different.

Focal uses its Focus Time architecture to physically angle the individual sections of the speaker toward the listening position.

This helps place the drivers at a more consistent distance from the listener so their output arrives together.

The result is better coherence, imaging, and a more convincing soundstage.

High Density Polymer Front Baffle

The sculpted front baffle is molded from a single piece of Focal's High Density Polymer, or HDP.

Focal developed the material to provide greater density, rigidity, and damping than conventional MDF while allowing the smooth shapes surrounding the drivers to minimize diffraction.

The one-piece baffle is both an acoustic component and one of the visual signatures of the Kanta family.
