The Focal Kanta Center is the dedicated center channel for a complete Kanta home theater, bringing the same Focal technologies and tonal character found throughout the Kanta loudspeaker family to the most important channel in a movie system.

With dual 6.5-inch Flax mid/bass drivers, Focal's pure Beryllium inverted-dome tweeter, TMD suspension, and NIC motor technology, Kanta Center is designed to deliver clear dialogue, natural voices, and the dynamics required for serious home cinema.

Pair it with Kanta N°1, N°2, or N°3 and you can create a seamless Focal soundstage across the entire front of the room.

Dialogue Matters

A huge percentage of what you're hearing in a movie comes through the center channel.

Dialogue is the obvious part, but the center also handles music, effects, and much of the information connected directly to what's happening on screen.

That's why we don't treat the center speaker as an afterthought.

Kanta Center is engineered to remain clear and intelligible even when a soundtrack becomes complicated and the volume starts climbing.

Dual 6.5-Inch Flax Drivers

Kanta Center uses two 6.5-inch Flax mid/bass drivers.

Focal's patented Flax cone uses high-quality French flax fiber sandwiched between two thin layers of fiberglass.

This construction gives the cone an excellent combination of light weight, rigidity, and damping.

The result is the natural, uncolored midrange that's especially important for reproducing human voices accurately.

TMD Suspension + NIC Technology

The Flax drivers also benefit from two important Focal technologies.

TMD — Tuned Mass Damper — suspension helps stabilize the driver's suspension and reduce unwanted resonance through the critical midrange frequencies.

NIC — Neutral Inductance Circuit — technology helps stabilize the magnetic field surrounding the driver as the voice coil moves.

Together, these technologies improve control and definition, helping Kanta Center maintain clarity during demanding movie soundtracks.

Pure Beryllium Tweeter

High frequencies are handled by Focal's 27mm IAL3 pure Beryllium inverted-dome tweeter.

Beryllium's exceptional rigidity and extremely low mass allow the tweeter to reproduce subtle high-frequency information with excellent speed and precision.

Its response extends all the way to 40kHz.

More importantly for a complete Kanta theater, it provides the same Beryllium high-frequency character found in the other Kanta loudspeakers.

High-Density Polymer Front Baffle

The Kanta Center's front baffle isn't conventional MDF.

Focal molds it from a single piece of High Density Polymer, or HDP.

According to Focal, the material is significantly denser, more rigid, and better damped than MDF. The one-piece construction also helps reduce diffraction around the drivers.

It's another example of Focal engineering the enclosure around the drivers rather than simply putting high-quality drivers into a conventional box.

A Seamless Kanta Front Soundstage

The real reason to choose Kanta Center is system matching.

Pair it with Kanta N°1, Kanta N°2, or Kanta N°3 and the front left, center, and right channels share the same fundamental Focal technologies and tonal character.

When a voice, vehicle, or effect moves across the screen, it should sound like one continuous event—not like it's jumping between three different speakers.

That's where matching the center channel to the rest of the system really matters.

Kanta Center can become the foundation of a complete Focal multichannel system.

Optional Kanta Center Stand

Focal offers a dedicated Kanta Center stand designed specifically for the speaker.

The matte-black aluminum stand is height-adjustable from approximately 16.7 to 17.7 inches, allowing the center channel to be properly positioned below a screen when it isn't being installed into cabinetry or behind an acoustically transparent projection screen.

Proper center-channel height and angle can make a significant difference in dialogue localization and overall front-stage coherence.
