The Focal Aria Evo X N°3 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed for listeners who want the scale and dynamics of a serious tower without putting an enormous speaker in the room.

With three 6.5-inch Flax woofers, a dedicated 6.5-inch Flax midrange driver, and Focal's TAM aluminum/magnesium tweeter, the N°3 can deliver real impact while maintaining the natural midrange, detail, and imaging that make the Aria Evo X line so easy to listen to.

It's equally at home as the foundation of a dedicated two-channel system or as the front left and right speakers in a high-performance Focal home theater.

Three 6.5-Inch Flax Woofers

The big difference with the Aria Evo X N°3 is its bass section.

Focal uses three 6.5-inch Flax woofers, giving the N°3 considerably more surface area to move air while maintaining the speed and control of a smaller driver.

Bass response reaches 39Hz ±3dB, with useful extension down to 32Hz.

That gives the N°3 enough low-frequency authority to stand on its own in a serious music system while still allowing us to integrate a subwoofer when deeper bass or home theater performance is the goal.

Focal Flax Cone Technology

Both the woofers and dedicated midrange use Focal's patented Flax sandwich cone.

The cone places a core of natural French flax fiber between two thin layers of fiberglass.

It's an unusual construction, but it gives Focal the combination it is looking for in a loudspeaker driver: low mass, rigidity, and internal damping.

That translates into quick dynamics, clean bass, and a natural midrange without adding unnecessary coloration to voices and instruments.

Dedicated Flax Midrange with TMD

Unlike a two-way speaker where one driver has to cover both bass and midrange, the Aria Evo X N°3 uses a dedicated 6.5-inch Flax midrange driver.

Focal's TMD — Tuned Mass Damper — suspension helps stabilize the driver's movement and reduce unwanted resonance through the critical midrange frequencies.

The benefit isn't a specification you have to listen for.

It's simply cleaner vocals, better definition, and a more natural presentation.

TAM Aluminum/Magnesium Tweeter

High frequencies are handled by Focal's 1-inch TAM inverted-dome tweeter.

Its aluminum/magnesium "M"-shaped dome combines rigidity with low mass and is designed to provide broad dispersion throughout the listening area.

A decompression chamber behind the tweeter helps control the rear wave and reduce distortion.

The result is detailed and extended treble without making the speaker overly directional or forcing you into one tiny sweet spot.

92dB Sensitivity

With a sensitivity of 92dB, the Aria Evo X N°3 is relatively efficient and can work with a wide variety of quality amplifiers.

Focal recommends 40 to 300 watts per channel.

That gives us plenty of options when building a system around it—from a clean, simple Naim streaming amplifier to a more elaborate separates-based two-channel system.

The important part is matching the electronics to the room and how you actually listen rather than simply chasing the biggest wattage number.
