The Focal Alpha 65 Evo is a two-way active studio monitor designed for accurate mixing, recording and music production. Combining a French-made 6.5-inch Slatefiber woofer with Focal's 1-inch aluminum inverted-dome tweeter, it delivers a balanced sound, detailed midrange and controlled bass in a compact enclosure suitable for professional and home studios.

With a frequency response of 40Hz to 22kHz, a maximum peak output of 104dB SPL and dedicated Class D amplification for each driver, the Alpha 65 Evo provides the dynamic performance required for critical listening. Balanced XLR and TRS inputs, an unbalanced RCA input and adjustable acoustic controls make it easy to integrate into a wide range of studio monitoring systems.

French-Made Slatefiber Woofer

The Alpha 65 Evo features Focal's proprietary 6.5-inch Slatefiber woofer, developed and manufactured in France.

Its diaphragm combines recycled carbon fibers with a thermoplastic polymer. The non-woven carbon fibers are oriented in the same direction to achieve a balance of rigidity, damping and low moving mass.

This construction helps the woofer reproduce bass and midrange frequencies with the precision needed to evaluate vocals, instruments and complex arrangements. It also contributes to the monitor's consistent tonal balance at different listening levels, an important consideration during extended mixing sessions.

Aluminum Inverted-Dome Tweeter

A 1-inch aluminum inverted-dome tweeter handles high-frequency reproduction, providing the detail needed to evaluate vocal presence, percussion, reverberation and other subtle elements of a recording.

Focal's inverted-dome design is engineered for wide horizontal dispersion, creating a stable listening area rather than restricting accurate monitoring to an extremely narrow position.

A specially designed waveguide further controls dispersion, helping maintain a consistent soundstage as the listener moves around the mixing position.

Dedicated Class D Amplification

The Alpha 65 Evo uses separate Class D amplifiers for its woofer and tweeter, allowing each driver to receive amplification tailored to its operating range.

The 55-watt low-frequency amplifier provides power for the Slatefiber woofer, while a dedicated high-frequency amplifier drives the aluminum inverted-dome tweeter.

This bi-amplified architecture eliminates the need for an external power amplifier and gives the Alpha 65 Evo the dynamic capability required for nearfield studio monitoring.

Three Analog Inputs for Flexible Studio Integration

The Alpha 65 Evo accommodates professional and consumer audio equipment through three analog input connections.

Balanced XLR and ¼-inch TRS inputs allow direct connection to compatible audio interfaces, mixing consoles and monitor controllers. An unbalanced RCA input provides additional flexibility for desktop DACs and other audio sources.

Selectable input sensitivity helps match the monitor to the output level of the connected equipment, making the Alpha 65 Evo suitable for everything from compact home recording setups to professional production studios.

Adjustable Bass and Treble Response

Every studio has its own acoustic characteristics. The Alpha 65 Evo includes rear-panel controls that allow its frequency response to be adjusted for the room and speaker placement.

A low-frequency shelving control provides ±6dB of adjustment, helping compensate for bass reinforcement caused by nearby walls and other placement conditions. A high-frequency shelving control offers ±3dB of adjustment for fine-tuning treble balance.

These controls are particularly useful when positioning monitors on a desktop, near a wall or in a room where acoustic treatment is limited.

Front-Ported Cabinet and Flexible Placement

The Alpha 65 Evo uses a bass-reflex enclosure with a large front-facing laminar port. Its rounded cabinet contours and substantial side panels are designed to support controlled acoustic performance while maintaining a compact footprint.

Integrated mounting inserts provide options for compatible wall and ceiling mounting hardware, making the monitor suitable for studio installations where conventional desktop or stand placement is impractical.

An automatic standby function reduces power consumption when the monitor is not in use and can be disabled when continuous operation is preferred.
