A complete Focal in-wall bass solution combining the 100 IWSUB8 passive subwoofer with its dedicated rack-mountable amplifier.

The Focal 100 IWSUB8 + Subwoofer Amplifier Pack E1SSWPA101 pairs Focal's discreet 8-inch Polyglass in-wall subwoofer with the amplifier engineered specifically to drive it.

Designed for custom home audio and home theater installations, the system delivers deep, controlled bass while keeping the subwoofer almost completely hidden within the wall. The 100 IWSUB8 reaches down to 30Hz (-6dB), while its dedicated amplifier provides up to 200 watts of power with adjustable crossover, phase, and output level.

It's an elegant solution for media rooms, living spaces, distributed audio systems, and installations where conventional powered subwoofers would compromise the room design.

Complete Subwoofer + Amplifier Package

This package combines two components designed by Focal to operate together:

Rather than requiring a separate third-party subwoofer amplifier, the system provides the correct amplification, filtering, controls, and protection for the 100 IWSUB8 in one matched package.

8-Inch Polyglass Woofer

The 100 IWSUB8 uses an 8-inch (21cm) Polyglass woofer engineered to combine rigidity with effective damping.

Focal's Polyglass technology applies fine glass microbeads to a cellulose-pulp cone, increasing rigidity while retaining the damping properties of paper.

The result is bass designed to remain controlled and articulate while providing the impact required for both music and home theater.

Bass Extension Down to 30Hz

Despite its extremely shallow in-wall construction, the 100 IWSUB8 delivers a frequency response of 34Hz–140Hz ±3dB, with useful low-frequency extension reaching 30Hz at -6dB.

A front-firing bass-reflex port uses a flared internal profile to control airflow and minimize unwanted port noise.

Because both the woofer and port radiate into the room from the front, the entire system can remain concealed inside the wall.

Only 3-3/8 Inches of Mounting Depth

The 100 IWSUB8 was designed specifically for architectural integration.

It installs between standard 16-inch-on-center wall studs and requires only 3-3/8 inches (86mm) of mounting depth.

Once installed, the subwoofer is covered by a low-profile magnetic grille that can be painted to match the surrounding wall.

The result is powerful low-frequency reinforcement without placing a conventional subwoofer enclosure in the room.

Dedicated 100 IWSUB8 Amplifier

The included Focal amplifier was engineered specifically for the 100 IWSUB8.

It delivers 150 watts continuous into 4 ohms with up to 200 watts maximum output and incorporates dynamic power control, thermal protection, short-circuit protection, over-current protection, and fuse protection.

The amplifier is also 19-inch rack compatible at 1U, making it easy to integrate into a centralized AV equipment rack.

Adjustable Bass Management

Front-panel controls make it possible to properly integrate the subwoofer with the rest of the audio system.

Adjustments include:

• Variable 40Hz–200Hz crossover

• 0°–180° phase adjustment

• Output level control

• On / Auto / Off operation

• LFE input

• Stereo RCA line inputs and outputs

This gives an installer the flexibility needed to blend the in-wall subwoofer with Focal architectural speakers and the acoustics of the room.

Expandable to Two In-Wall Subwoofers

The included amplifier can drive up to two Focal 100 IWSUB8 subwoofers connected in parallel.

That makes the E1SSWPA101 package an excellent starting point for a system that may eventually require greater bass output or more even low-frequency distribution throughout the room.

Add a second 100 IWSUB8 and the same amplifier can power both.

Designed for Focal 100 Series Systems

The 100 IWSUB8 was developed as the low-frequency complement to Focal's 100 Series architectural loudspeakers.

It can be integrated with 100 Series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers to create a complete Focal system with virtually no visible loudspeaker cabinets.

The combination is particularly well suited to dedicated home theaters, media rooms, living rooms, whole-home audio systems, and other spaces where performance and architectural discretion are equally important.
