The Esoteric T-01 brings the revolutionary analog engineering developed for the flagship Grandioso T1 into a more installation-friendly reference turntable. At its heart is Esoteric’s patented MagneDrive System, a contact-free magnetic drive that isolates the platter from motor-borne vibration while delivering exceptional rotational stability, high torque, and remarkably quiet operation.

Designed around Esoteric’s philosophy of “Reproducing the Master Sound,” the T-01 combines precision mechanical engineering, sophisticated vibration control, advanced clock technology, and exceptional Japanese craftsmanship to reveal vinyl with clarity, dynamics, scale, and musical realism.

Esoteric MagneDrive System

Unlike conventional belt- or direct-drive designs, the MagneDrive System transfers rotational force magnetically without physical contact between the motor drive and platter. A magnetic driver induces rotation in an iron induction wheel incorporated into the platter, helping prevent motor vibration and rumble from reaching the record and stylus.

The result is exceptionally quiet rotation combined with the high torque required for excellent pitch stability, powerful dynamics, and authoritative bass reproduction.

Magne-Float High-Mass Platter

The T-01 features a precision-machined 13 kg aluminum platter combined with Esoteric's Magne-Float technology. Magnetic assistance reduces the effective load on the bearing to approximately 5.5 kg, allowing the design to retain the rotational inertia of a massive platter while significantly reducing bearing friction.

An inverted bearing arrangement positions the rotational fulcrum closer to the record surface for enhanced stability and precise playback.

Master Sound Discrete Clock

Esoteric applies its renowned clock engineering to analog playback with a proprietary Master Sound Discrete Clock circuit controlling the motor drive. The system uses a high-precision 10MHz master clock to generate the motor's drive waveform with exceptional accuracy.

An external 10MHz clock input also allows the T-01 to synchronize with compatible Esoteric master clock generators for even greater rotational precision.

Advanced Vibration Control

The T-01 employs an elegant triple-layer chassis combining thick aluminum structures with a wood core. The tonearm is supported by the upper aluminum layer, while the MagneDrive system, spindle assembly, and isolation feet are anchored to the lower layer. The wood center section helps prevent unwanted vibration from traveling between the platter and tonearm.

A high-gloss piano-lacquer finish on the wooden mid-chassis adds a luxurious visual contrast to the precision-machined aluminum construction.

TA-9S Tonearm

The standard T-01 includes Esoteric's TA-9S static-balance tonearm, featuring precision gimbal bearings and CNC-machined aluminum and brass components. Each tonearm is hand-assembled by skilled Japanese craftsmen and includes adjustable anti-skating and VTA.

For customers who prefer their own tonearm, the T-01 AL is available without a tonearm or cartridge and supports additional configurations using optional arm-base kits.
