Designed as a reference-grade Super Audio CD/CD transport, the P1X SE combines ESOTERIC’s legendary VRDS-ATLAS mechanism, advanced Master Sound Discrete Clock, ES-Link5 digital transmission, and a dedicated external power supply in an uncompromising dual-chassis design.

Engineered for the highest level of digital playback, the P1X SE focuses on exceptional disc-reading accuracy, ultra-low vibration, precise clocking, and clean power delivery—providing a remarkably transparent and natural digital source for a reference audio system.

VRDS-ATLAS Transport Mechanism

At the heart of the P1X SE is ESOTERIC’s flagship VRDS-ATLAS (Vibration-Free Rigid Disc-Clamping System).

The mechanism clamps the disc to a same-diameter turntable, helping suppress rotational vibration and correct disc warpage while improving optical pickup accuracy. Its exceptionally rigid construction incorporates substantial steel structural components and a solid-machined duralumin turntable.

The complete mechanism weighs approximately 13.5 kg including its base, providing extraordinary mechanical stability and vibration control.

Master Sound Discrete Clock

The P1X SE incorporates ESOTERIC’s Master Sound Discrete Clock for Digital Player, derived from technology developed for the flagship Grandioso G1X master clock generator.

Rather than relying on a conventional off-the-shelf clock module, ESOTERIC uses carefully selected discrete components and a large crystal oscillator to achieve highly precise clock generation with an emphasis on musical expression.

For even greater system performance, the P1X SE can synchronize with an external 10 MHz master clock, including the Grandioso G1X.

ES-Link5 Digital Transmission

ESOTERIC’s proprietary ES-Link5 interface provides ultra-wide-band digital transmission between compatible ESOTERIC components.

Using HDMI connectivity for its proprietary digital interface, ES-Link5 supports signals up to:

• PCM 768 kHz / 48-bit

Its architecture separately transmits audio data and clock signals, reducing processing requirements at the receiving DAC and helping preserve signal integrity.

Dedicated External Power Supply

The Grandioso P1X SE uses a two-chassis configuration, separating the transport from its power supply.

Moving the power supply away from the main transport chassis helps isolate the sensitive disc-reading mechanism and digital circuitry from transformer-generated vibration and electrical interference.

The dedicated power supply incorporates four independent toroidal transformers, providing clean, robust power to individual circuit sections.

Low-feedback discrete DC regulators are combined with an extensive bank of EDLC super capacitors.
