The Esoteric Grandioso G1X is a flagship 10MHz master clock generator engineered to elevate the timing accuracy, clarity, dimensionality, and musical expression of compatible high-end digital audio components.

At its heart is Esoteric’s entirely in-house developed Master Sound Discrete Clock, built around the proprietary SC1 crystal oscillator. Rather than relying on a conventional off-the-shelf OCXO module, Esoteric developed the crystal, oscillator circuitry, temperature-control system, power supplies, and output stage specifically for high-performance music reproduction.

The result is a reference-grade clock designed not simply for exceptional numerical accuracy, but to allow digital components to reproduce music with greater naturalness, spatial definition, dynamics, and realism.

Master Sound Discrete Clock

The G1X represents the culmination of more than two decades of Esoteric research into clock technology. Its custom SC1 quartz crystal uses an SC (Stress Compensated) cut and is individually selected to meet Esoteric's demanding standards.

Each crystal is individually measured during production, and its temperature characteristics are used to customize the operating parameters of the clock's temperature-control system.

Master Sound TC Temperature Control

Clock accuracy is highly dependent on maintaining a stable operating temperature. Esoteric's proprietary Master Sound TC (Thermo-Control) system individually optimizes the operating temperature of each SC1 crystal.

Instead of relying heavily on electronic frequency correction, the system precisely controls the crystal's physical operating environment, helping maintain a pure and stable clock signal.

A sophisticated 128-step heater control system continuously regulates temperature while avoiding the abrupt current fluctuations associated with conventional on/off heater designs.

Original Vacuum Flask Oven

The G1X employs a specially developed vacuum-insulated oven structure designed to minimize temperature fluctuations around the oscillator.

This precision enclosure helps stabilize the SC1 crystal while reducing the electrical energy required by the heater, further isolating the clock circuitry from potential electrical disturbances.

Four Independent Power Supplies

To minimize interaction between critical circuits, the Master Sound Discrete Clock uses four independent power supplies dedicated to:
