Reference-Grade Analog Performance

The ESOTERIC E-02 is a flagship balanced phono stage preamplifier engineered to extract extraordinary detail, dynamics, and musical expression from vinyl playback. Designed especially to handle the extremely low-level signals produced by moving-coil cartridges, the E-02 provides the low noise, high gain, and precise signal integrity demanded by reference analog systems.

Fully Balanced Circuit Design

From input through output, the E-02 employs a fully balanced circuit architecture. This configuration is particularly beneficial when amplifying the delicate output of an MC cartridge, helping minimize noise and interference while maintaining the integrity of the original analog signal.

True Dual-Mono Construction

The left and right channels feature independent:

• Power transformers
• Power supply boards
• Amplifier circuits

This dual-mono architecture provides excellent channel separation while giving each channel a robust, dedicated power supply.

High-Performance MC Head Amplifier & RIAA Stage

At the heart of the E-02 is a newly designed fully balanced MC head amplifier and RIAA amplifier.

The NF-CR RIAA circuit achieves an impressive ±0.2 dB RIAA accuracy while utilizing minimal negative feedback. A high-voltage power supply provides generous dynamic headroom, allowing the E-02 to reproduce everything from subtle low-level information to powerful musical transients.

ESOTERIC-HCLD High Current Line Driver

Borrowing technology from ESOTERIC’s flagship Grandioso preamplifiers, the E-02 incorporates the proprietary HCLD High Current Line Driver with an exceptionally fast 2,000 V/μs slew rate.

In balanced XLR operation, dedicated amplifiers independently drive the hot and cold signals. When using RCA outputs, the amplifiers operate in parallel to maximize output linearity and current capability.

ES-LINK Analog

In addition to conventional RCA and XLR outputs, the E-02 supports ES-LINK Analog, ESOTERIC’s proprietary current-transmission interface.

When paired with compatible ESOTERIC components, ES-LINK Analog takes advantage of the E-02’s high-current HCLD circuitry to provide exceptionally fast and powerful signal transmission.
