DALI EPIKORE 7 Floorstanding Loudspeaker (each)

DALI EPIKORE 7 Floorstanding Speakers – Addicted To Audio NZ

Product Description

The DALI EPIKORE 7 brings technologies developed for the flagship DALI KORE into a more compact, 3½-way floorstanding loudspeaker. Designed for medium to large listening rooms, it combines two newly developed 7-inch Clarity Cone bass/midrange drivers with DALI's EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter, delivering full-range performance from an elegant, relatively slim cabinet.

As the successor to the engineering philosophy established by the acclaimed EPICON series, the EPIKORE 7 incorporates second-generation Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC Gen-2) motor technology, continuous-flare bass-reflex ports, and an advanced crossover network. Its 35Hz–34kHz frequency response, 6-ohm nominal impedance, and 88dB sensitivity make it a versatile choice for high-end two-channel systems.

Developed, designed, and manufactured in Denmark, the EPIKORE 7 offers much of the technology found in DALI's larger reference loudspeakers without requiring their substantial cabinet dimensions.

Dual 7-Inch Clarity Cone Drivers with SMC Gen-2

Unlike the larger EPIKORE 9 and EPIKORE 11, which use separate bass and midrange drivers, the EPIKORE 7 employs two 7-inch bass/midrange drivers in a 3½-way configuration. This allows DALI to achieve substantial low-frequency output while retaining a relatively compact floorstanding enclosure.

Both drivers incorporate DALI's Clarity Cone technology, combining paper and wood fibres with a specially developed geometric cone structure. This construction is designed to control unwanted diaphragm resonances and reduce breakup without adding excessive mass.

Their powerful motor systems use DALI's patented SMC Gen-2 material, developed to minimize eddy currents and magnetic hysteresis. By reducing these sources of distortion, the motor system helps preserve detail and control as the drivers reproduce complex musical passages.

The two-driver arrangement provides the EPIKORE 7 with the cone area needed for convincing bass reproduction while maintaining the midrange articulation essential to vocals and acoustic instruments.

EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter

The EPIKORE 7 features DALI's EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter, developed from the high-frequency architecture introduced in the flagship KORE.

The module combines a large 35mm soft-dome tweeter with a 10 × 55mm planar magnetostatic element. Powerful neodymium magnet systems provide the motor force required for both drivers, while their complementary operating ranges extend the speaker's high-frequency reproduction to 34kHz.

The soft dome handles the main treble range, with the planar element reproducing the highest frequencies. Together, they are engineered to provide extended response, controlled distortion, and wide horizontal dispersion.

DALI's wide-dispersion approach is particularly useful in real listening rooms, where both direct sound and reflections contribute to the perceived tonal balance. The EPIKORE 7 is designed to maintain a consistent presentation without requiring aggressive toe-in or an unusually narrow listening position.

Precision 3½-Way Crossover

The EPIKORE 7 uses a 3½-way crossover network with crossover frequencies of 800Hz, 2.5kHz, and 12.5kHz.

This arrangement allows the two 7-inch drivers to share low-frequency duties while one extends farther into the midrange. The soft-dome tweeter handles the upper midrange and treble transition, while the planar element extends the highest frequencies.

Compared with a conventional two-way floorstanding design, this configuration provides additional flexibility in controlling bass output, midrange reproduction, and the transition to the hybrid tweeter.

The crossover integrates the drivers into a cohesive system while preserving the wide-dispersion characteristics central to DALI's loudspeaker engineering.

Continuous-Flare Bass-Reflex Ports

The EPIKORE 7 incorporates continuous-flare bass-reflex ports designed to improve airflow and reduce turbulence as air moves through the enclosure.

Their carefully developed geometry helps minimize unwanted port noise and compression during demanding bass passages. With a bass-reflex tuning frequency of 33Hz, the enclosure extends the low-frequency performance of the dual 7-inch drivers while maintaining the speaker's relatively compact proportions.

The result is a floorstanding loudspeaker capable of reproducing substantial bass without relying on the larger driver arrays found in the EPIKORE 9 and EPIKORE 11.

Danish Cabinet Construction and Premium Finishes

The EPIKORE 7's sculpted cabinet combines curved surfaces, real wood veneer, and a multi-layer high-gloss lacquer finish. Its rigid construction provides a stable foundation for the drivers while helping minimize unwanted enclosure resonances.

Available in High-Gloss Black, High-Gloss Walnut, and High-Gloss Maroon, the EPIKORE 7 brings the distinctive appearance of DALI's reference loudspeakers to a more manageable floorstanding design.

Bi-wire speaker terminals provide flexibility when connecting high-performance amplification, while the supplied magnetic grilles and spike feet complete the speaker's refined presentation.
