The Crown CDi DriveCore 2|600 is a two-channel professional power amplifier designed for installed sound systems, commercial audio and custom residential applications. Delivering 600 watts per channel into 4 or 8 ohms, it combines Crown's energy-efficient DriveCore amplification with integrated digital signal processing and direct 70V/100V loudspeaker operation.

Designed for system integrators, the CDi 2|600 brings amplification, speaker processing and network-based configuration together in a rack-mountable chassis. It is suited to distributed audio, restaurants, hospitality spaces, houses of worship and other installations that require dependable power and detailed system control.

Crown DriveCore Amplification

Crown's proprietary DriveCore technology combines the amplifier's drive stage and power output stage into an integrated design, reducing component count while improving efficiency.

The CDi 2|600 delivers 600 watts per channel into both 4-ohm and 8-ohm loads. It also supports 2-ohm operation at 300 watts per channel, providing flexibility when designing systems around different loudspeaker configurations.

For applications requiring greater output from a single channel, the amplifier can operate in bridged mono mode, delivering up to 1,200 watts into an 8-ohm load.

Direct 70V/100V Loudspeaker Operation

The CDi 2|600 supports both conventional low-impedance speakers and high-impedance distributed audio systems.

Each channel can deliver up to 600 watts directly into a 70V or 100V loudspeaker line, eliminating the need for external step-up transformers. This makes it suitable for commercial installations with multiple ceiling, pendant or surface-mount speakers connected to a distributed audio circuit.

For example, the amplifier can be integrated with compatible JBL Professional loudspeakers in restaurant dining areas, retail spaces, hospitality venues and outdoor entertainment zones.

Its ability to support different loudspeaker configurations gives installers flexibility when designing systems that combine foreground music, background audio and paging.

Integrated Digital Signal Processing

The CDi DriveCore 2|600 incorporates onboard DSP for loudspeaker optimization and system protection.

Available processing includes input and output equalization, crossover filters, delay and limiting. These tools allow an installer to configure the amplifier for the connected loudspeakers, manage frequency distribution and protect the system against excessive output.

The integrated DSP reduces the need for separate external speaker-processing hardware in many installations and provides a centralized platform for system configuration.

Network Configuration and Monitoring

The CDi 2|600 supports Ethernet-based configuration, control and monitoring through Harman's HiQnet Audio Architect software.

Installers can access amplifier settings, configure DSP parameters and monitor system operation over a compatible network. A front-panel color LCD provides local access to important settings and operating information.

This combination of local and network-based control makes the amplifier practical for equipment racks, commercial AV installations and systems that require ongoing service access.

Designed for Professional Installation

The CDi DriveCore 2|600 features a rack-mountable chassis designed for permanent audio installations. Its integrated amplifier and DSP architecture reduces the amount of separate equipment required in the rack, while its power and output flexibility allow it to serve a variety of loudspeaker systems.

The standard CDi 2|600 uses analog audio inputs. For installations requiring BLU link digital audio transport, Crown offers the separate CDi 2|600BL model.
