Marten Coltrane Supreme Extreme Loudspeaker System

The Marten Coltrane Supreme Extreme represents the pinnacle of Marten loudspeaker design—a no-compromise, four-tower reference system created to remove virtually every barrier between the recording and the listener.

The Supreme Extreme separates the main loudspeaker and bass sections into dedicated towers, allowing each to be engineered specifically for its frequency range. The system combines pure diamond, pure beryllium, Crystalid, and aluminum-sandwich drivers, first-order crossovers, Jorma Paragon internal wiring, carbon-fiber monocoque cabinets, and dedicated Marten isolation.

This is Marten engineering taken to its extreme.

Five-Way Main Tower

Each main tower uses an extraordinary driver array designed for speed, resolution, coherence, and dynamic capability.

A 1-inch pure diamond tweeter handles the highest frequencies, joined by a massive 3-inch pure diamond high-midrange driver—the largest diamond driver Marten has ever used.

A 7-inch pure beryllium midrange handles the critical center of the musical spectrum, while four 8-inch Crystalid mid-bass drivers bridge the system into the dedicated bass towers.

Crystalid is Marten's advanced ceramic-based material, engineered to combine extremely high rigidity with low moving mass for exceptional speed and control.

Dedicated Bass Towers

Low frequencies are handled by two completely separate bass towers.

Each tower incorporates five 10-inch active aluminum-sandwich bass drivers supported by an incredible ten 10-inch aluminum-sandwich passive radiators.

Across the stereo system, that's:

• 10 active 10-inch bass drivers
• 20 passive 10-inch radiators

The dedicated bass towers extend down to an extraordinary 17 Hz ±2 dB, providing tremendous low-frequency scale and authority while remaining physically separated from the critical midrange and high-frequency drivers.

First-Order Crossover

Marten developed a new first-order crossover specifically for the Supreme Extreme's dual-tower architecture.

Crossover points are set at 120 Hz, 370 Hz, 1,000 Hz, and 4,000 Hz, with the design focused on maintaining time and phase coherence throughout the system.

Premium components include copper-foil air-core coils, silver/oil and silver/gold capacitors, and custom resistors.

Jorma Paragon Internal Wiring

The Coltrane Supreme Extreme uses Jorma Paragon, Jorma's flagship cable, for its internal wiring.

Handmade in Sweden from ultra-pure copper with separate conductors and premium shielding, Paragon provides the signal path throughout both the main and bass towers.

At this level, every component between the amplifier and drivers matters.

Carbon-Fiber Monocoque Construction

Both towers use an exceptionally rigid carbon-fiber monocoque structure combined with an aluminum and solid-wood sandwich construction.

The objective is simple: make the cabinet as acoustically invisible as possible.

The separate tower architecture further isolates the enormous forces generated by the bass system from the midrange and high-frequency drivers.

Mirror-polished stainless-steel supports incorporate Marten Isolators developed with IsoAcoustics, custom engineered specifically for the dimensions, weight, and performance requirements of the Supreme Extreme.
