The Coltrane Supreme Extreme is Marten’s most ambitious loudspeaker to date, designed to eliminate every barrier between the listener and the music. Its dual-tower architecture separates the bass enclosure from the upper frequencies to minimize mechanical and vibrational interactions, ensuring pristine sound clarity. The speaker features a carbon fibre monocoque cabinet, reinforced with solid wood and aluminium, offering exceptional rigidity and resonance control. This innovative structure, available in four matte wood finishes—Walnut, Cherry, Maple, and Oak—combines aesthetic elegance with acoustic transparency.

The driver complement is equally remarkable, boasting a 1-inch pure diamond tweeter, a 3-inch pure diamond high-midrange, and the largest 7-inch pure beryllium midrange driver ever created. These are paired with four 8-inch Crystalid mid-bass drivers and five 10-inch aluminium sandwich bass drivers with ten passive radiators, delivering unparalleled resolution and dynamic range. The proprietary first-order crossover, developed specifically for the dual-tower design, ensures perfect time and phase coherence, using premium components like copper foil air-core coils, silver/oil and silver/gold capacitors, and custom resistors.

Unmatched Craftsmanship and Technology

Every element of the Coltrane Supreme Extreme is crafted with precision. The speaker incorporates Jorma Paragon cabling, Marten’s most advanced internal wiring, and bespoke Marten terminals for low resistance and long-term stability. Custom-designed Marten Isolators, developed in collaboration with IsoAcoustics, decouple the cabinet from the floor, reducing resonance and enhancing clarity, bass depth, and soundstage openness. The result is a listening experience that feels as close to reality as possible, with breathtaking clarity, lightning-fast transient response, and deep emotional resonance.

Leif Olofsson, Marten’s founder and chief designer, emphasized the speaker’s purpose: “We wanted it to sound as close to reality as possible.” The Supreme Extreme achieves this through its innovative use of materials like diamond and beryllium, which offer exceptional stiffness and low mass, and Crystalid mid-bass drivers that reveal subtle textures with minimal distortion.

While the Coltrane Supreme Extreme was presented as a static display at High End Munich 2025, its official launch is slated for the Hong Kong High End AV Show 2025, from August 8–10, where it will be demonstrated in Fung Ning Audio’s Chancellor Room. Paired with an ultra-high-end system featuring the Goldmund Mimesis Reference preamplifier, 4800 power amplifiers, Wadax Reference digital source, TechDAS Air Force Zero turntable, and Jorma cabling, the Supreme Extreme promises to deliver a transformative listening experience.
