With dual pure diamond drivers, a 7-inch pure beryllium midrange, dual 10-inch aluminum-sandwich woofers, an entirely redesigned first-order crossover, Jorma Paragon internal wiring, and advanced multi-layer cabinet construction, the Quintet Extreme represents an extraordinary evolution of the Coltrane platform.

Supreme Extreme Driver Technology

At the heart of the Coltrane Quintet Extreme are the same critical drivers used in Marten's flagship Supreme Extreme.

A 1-inch pure diamond tweeter is joined by a remarkable 3-inch pure diamond high-midrange driver for exceptional speed, resolution, and transparency.

The critical midrange is handled by a 7-inch pure beryllium driver—the largest Marten has ever used.

Together, these drivers deliver extraordinary rigidity with extremely low moving mass, allowing the Quintet Extreme to reproduce subtle musical information with exceptional speed, control, and realism.

Powerful 18 Hz Bass

Low frequencies are handled by dual 10-inch aluminum-sandwich woofers engineered for long excursion, speed, and control.

The Coltrane Quintet Extreme reaches down to an extraordinary 18 Hz, providing true full-range bass extension without sacrificing the resolution and articulation of the frequencies above it.

Overall frequency response extends from 18 Hz to 60 kHz.

Redesigned First-Order Crossover

Marten completely redesigned the crossover for the Quintet Extreme.

The first-order crossover uses custom-built components individually selected and tuned to work with the Extreme's diamond, beryllium, and aluminum-sandwich driver system.

This maintains the time and phase coherence fundamental to Marten's design philosophy while extracting even greater performance from its newest generation of drivers.

Jorma Paragon Internal Wiring

Internal wiring throughout the Coltrane Quintet Extreme is Jorma Paragon, Jorma's flagship cable.

This represents another significant step beyond the standard Coltrane Quintet and Quintet Statement Edition, providing an uncompromising internal signal path worthy of Marten's Extreme platform.

Advanced Multi-Layer Cabinet

The Quintet Extreme enclosure uses a sophisticated multi-layer laminate of carbon fiber, aluminum, wood, and fiberboard, engineered to create an exceptionally rigid and acoustically inert structure.

Mirror-polished stainless-steel supports incorporate Marten Isolators, mechanically decoupling the loudspeaker from the floor and helping control unwanted resonance.
