Clarus Concerto MKII Power Conditioner

Reference-Grade Clean Power for High-End Audio

The Clarus Concerto MKII is the flagship Clarus 8-outlet, 20-amp power conditioner, engineered specifically for high-performance two-channel audio and home theater systems. Its application-specific architecture provides dedicated power conditioning for analog, digital, and high-current components, reducing unwanted electrical noise while preserving dynamics, tonal balance, and transient impact.

Unlike conventional power conditioners that apply the same filtering to every component, the Concerto MKII uses specialized filtering for each type of connected equipment. Eight hospital-grade 20A outlets are divided into isolated banks and clearly designated for Analog, Digital, and High Current applications.

Application-Specific Power Conditioning

The Analog outlet bank is optimized for sensitive components such as phono preamplifiers and line-stage preamps. Clarus combines common-mode FluxCore filtering, ferrite-based filtering, and oil-filled capacitors to reduce ground-referenced noise while maintaining unrestricted current delivery.

Two individually filtered Digital outlet banks use multi-stage differential- and common-mode filtering for DACs, streamers, disc transports, and video components.

The dedicated High Current bank is engineered for power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, receivers, powered speakers, and subwoofers. It incorporates Clarus FluxCore technology and a substantial 30-amp HC inductor to handle demanding transient current without restricting dynamics.

Clarus FluxCore Technology

At the heart of the Concerto MKII is Clarus FluxCore technology, utilizing high-permeability nanocrystalline core inductors engineered to suppress high-frequency conducted noise while maintaining linear performance under demanding current loads.

This approach is designed to lower the system noise floor without introducing the current restriction that can reduce the dynamic performance of high-end audio equipment.

Clarus Concerto MKII Power Bars

Full 20-Amp Power Architecture

The Concerto MKII features a full 20-amp internal power path and isolated-ground 20A hospital-grade outlets. When connected to a 20A circuit, it can provide up to 2,400 watts, compared with 1,800 watts when connected to a 15A circuit.

Internally, Clarus uses heavy-gauge tin-plated copper bus bars instead of conventional point-to-point wiring. Combined with a star-ground architecture, this design minimizes voltage drop, supports high transient current demands, and helps reduce interaction and ground-borne noise between connected components.

Advanced Equipment Protection

The Concerto MKII also provides comprehensive protection for valuable audio and AV equipment. Its protection architecture includes a hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker, 960-joule TMOV surge suppression, under/over-voltage protection, automatic shutdown and recovery, and front-panel safety indicators.

If incoming voltage falls below 90 VAC or rises above 135 VAC, the system can automatically shut down and return to normal operation once safe voltage is restored.
