The Clarus CODA is a compact, high-performance USB digital-to-analog converter and headphone amplifier designed to transform audio playback from smartphones, tablets and computers. Featuring an ESS Professional Series SABRE DAC, Class G amplification and support for high-resolution PCM and DSD, CODA delivers audiophile-quality sound in a portable, USB-powered design.
Compatible with Android, iOS, macOS and Windows devices, CODA bypasses the device's internal audio circuitry to provide greater detail, improved dynamic range and more precise headphone control.
ESS SABRE DAC Technology
At its core, CODA uses an ESS Professional Series SABRE converter with HyperStream II modulation and QUAD DAC technology. The design achieves a specified 120dB signal-to-noise ratio and -112dB THD+N, supported by precision clocking and low-noise power regulation.
The USB interface supports PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD128 via DoP, allowing playback of high-resolution music files and compatible streaming content.
Class G Headphone Amplification
CODA incorporates an efficient Class G headphone amplifier delivering up to 2.0V RMS output through its 3.5mm stereo connection. The architecture combines low power consumption with the drive capability needed for high-performance portable headphones.
Its USB-powered design requires no separate charging or external power supply.
MQA Rendering and Digital Filters
An integrated MQA renderer supports the final rendering stage of compatible MQA playback when paired with an appropriate core decoder.
Three selectable digital roll-off filters allow listeners to adjust playback characteristics. A 64-step volume control provides precise adjustment through dedicated side-mounted buttons.
