Overview

Clarus Aqua MKII Single-Ended RCA Interconnect Cable

High-performance analog RCA interconnect engineered for exceptional clarity, low noise, and accurate full-range signal transmission.

The Clarus Aqua MKII Single-Ended RCA Interconnect Cable brings Clarus' advanced conductor geometry and Pure Continuous Cast Copper technology to high-end unbalanced analog audio systems.

Aqua MKII uses a 20 AWG twin-axial PCCC architecture with separate positive signal and negative return conductors, specialized conductor geometries for bass, midrange, and high frequencies, individually insulated conductors, multi-stage alternating twists, and substantial double shielding.

The cable is completed with Clarus MKII RCA connectors using tellurium copper and beryllium copper components to maintain a secure, low-resistance connection between source components, preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, DACs, and other high-performance analog electronics.

Pure Continuous Cast Copper

Aqua MKII uses Pure Continuous Cast Copper (PCCC) conductors.

The continuous-casting process produces extended lengths of highly pure copper with minimal crystal boundaries and low electrical resistance.

For an analog interconnect carrying extremely low-level musical information, conductor purity and consistency are particularly important. The Aqua architecture is designed to preserve fine detail, dynamics, spatial information, and tonal integrity as the signal moves between components.

Frequency-Optimized Conductor Geometry

Rather than relying on one conventional wire geometry throughout the cable, Clarus uses different conductor shapes optimized for different portions of the audio spectrum.

Bass: Two heavy solid conductors provide the primary path for low-frequency information.

Midrange: A dedicated wide, flat conductor is optimized for midrange frequencies.

High Frequencies: Multiple spiral-ribbon conductors provide a specialized path for high-frequency information.

The different geometries operate together as a full-range conductor system, allowing Clarus to optimize electrical behavior according to frequency rather than treating the entire audio spectrum identically.

Twin-Axial Architecture

The Aqua MKII uses a twin-axial design with dedicated positive signal and negative return conductors.

This differs from a conventional coaxial RCA cable in which the outer shield may also serve as the signal return.

By separating signal transmission from shielding duties, Clarus can use the outer shield specifically to control externally induced interference while maintaining dedicated conductors for the actual audio signal.

Multi-Stage Alternating Twist

Inside the Aqua MKII, individual conductors are selectively twisted according to their frequency role.

Clarus then uses counter-rotational core twisting designed to reduce magnetic-field interaction, cancel induced distortion, and improve time alignment of frequency propagation through the cable.

This internal architecture adds another level of electromagnetic control beyond conductor material and gauge alone.

Individually Insulated Conductors

Each Aqua conductor is independently insulated using precision-formulated polyethylene (PE).

Individual insulation helps reduce interaction between adjacent conductors while allowing each specialized conductor geometry to maintain its intended electrical characteristics.

The result is a carefully controlled internal environment for the analog audio signal.

Double-Shielded for Low Noise

Aqua MKII uses substantial double shielding around its twin-axial signal architecture.

An aluminum foil and Mylar layer is combined with a heavy copper-braided shield to protect the internal conductors from electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference.

Importantly, the shield is connected only at the source end.

This directional configuration allows induced interference to be drained toward ground at the source rather than carrying it toward the input stage of the receiving component.

Clarus MKII RCA Connectors

The RCA termination is engineered with the same attention given to the cable itself.

The MKII connector uses a high-purity tellurium copper center pin with a hollow construction designed to reduce eddy-current effects.

The ground contact uses beryllium copper, selected for its conductivity and spring characteristics. Its ability to return toward its original shape helps maintain firm mechanical pressure against the RCA receptacle for a secure electrical connection.

Together, the two copper alloys provide a low-loss interface at both ends of the interconnect.

Hand-Terminated in Orlando

Clarus Aqua MKII RCA interconnects are hand-terminated in Orlando, Florida.

The finished cable combines Clarus' PCCC metallurgy, frequency-specific conductor geometries, twin-axial architecture, extensive shielding, and purpose-designed MKII connectors into a high-performance analog connection suitable for serious two-channel audio systems.
