The Cabasse THE PEARL AKOYA brings high-end audio engineering into a compact, sculptural wireless speaker. A smaller sibling to THE PEARL, AKOYA combines Cabasse’s coaxial driver technology, powerful built-in amplification, high-resolution streaming, and multiroom connectivity in an enclosure measuring just 8.7 inches across.

Inside its spherical cabinet, a 13 cm BCI coaxial midrange/tweeter works with a 17 cm HELD woofer. Three dedicated amplifiers deliver a combined 1,050 watts RMS per speaker, giving AKOYA substantial dynamic capability without requiring an external amplifier or DAC.

Use one speaker for an elegant standalone music system, pair two for dedicated stereo listening, or connect it with compatible Cabasse products throughout your home.

Coaxial Technology: The Heart of Cabasse

THE PEARL AKOYA features a 13 cm BCI coaxial midrange/tweeter assembly. By positioning the tweeter within the midrange driver, Cabasse brings the two acoustic sources together along a common axis.

The BCI driver’s shape is optimized to act as a waveguide for the tweeter, supporting controlled dispersion while keeping the overall speaker remarkably compact.

This design helps AKOYA deliver a coherent musical presentation from a cabinet that occupies far less space than a conventional multi-driver loudspeaker.

 

A 17 cm HELD Woofer That Means Business

Compact speakers often require compromises in bass extension. Cabasse addresses that challenge with its patented HELD technology—High Excursion Low Distortion.

AKOYA’s 17 cm woofer uses a motor structure designed to maintain controlled cone movement through substantial excursions. Cabasse specifies approximately ±10 mm of linear excursion for this driver.

A dedicated 450-watt RMS amplifier powers the woofer, while Cabasse’s bass-management processing helps control low-frequency performance.

The manufacturer specifies a frequency range beginning at 30 Hz, making AKOYA an appealing option for listeners who want meaningful bass without immediately adding a separate subwoofer.

THE PEARL AKOYA is a fully active speaker. Its three amplifier channels are matched to the individual acoustic sections.

These are Cabasse’s combined amplifier-channel ratings, not the speaker’s continuous acoustic output.

 

The active architecture means there is no need to select a separate amplifier, preamplifier, or DAC. Connect AKOYA to power, configure its network connection, and start listening.

High-Resolution Music Streaming

THE PEARL AKOYA includes a network music player and DAC, allowing it to function as a complete digital music system.

Connect through Ethernet or Wi-Fi to access compatible music services, internet radio, and music stored on your home network.

The Cabasse StreamCONTROL app brings music browsing, playback, and system configuration together in one interface.

AKOYA supports compatible network audio files up to 24-bit/192 kHz, including FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, AAC, and WMA. Its internal DAC is specified at 32-bit/768 kHz.

Bluetooth provides another convenient way to play audio directly from a compatible phone or tablet.

Streaming-service availability and integrations can change with software updates, so confirm support for any particular service before purchasing.

 

One Speaker, Stereo Pair, or Whole-Home Audio

THE PEARL AKOYA adapts to the way you want to listen.

A single speaker makes a compact standalone music system for a living room, office, bedroom, or other suitable space. Cabasse recommends it for rooms of approximately 20–35 square meters.

Pair two AKOYA speakers to create a dedicated left-and-right stereo system. Cabasse specifies maximum sound levels of 115 dB for one speaker and 121 dB for a stereo pair.

For larger installations, compatible Cabasse wireless speakers can be grouped through StreamCONTROL. Play the same music across multiple rooms or select different music for individual listening zones.

 

Connect Your Favorite Sources

Streaming isn't the only way to enjoy AKOYA.

Alongside Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, the speaker provides an optical S/PDIF input and a 3.5 mm analog input.

Connect a compatible television or digital transport through optical, or use the analog connection with an appropriate external audio source.

A turntable can be connected through the analog input when used with a suitable phono preamplifier.

THE PEARL AKOYA measures just 220 × 220 × 220 mm, giving it a compact footprint without sacrificing its distinctive Cabasse appearance.

Its spherical enclosure is available in Metallic Black or Pearl White, allowing it to complement a range of contemporary interiors.

An included Bluetooth remote features a rotating control ring for volume adjustment, along with playback and source-selection functions.

Cabasse also includes a carrying bag. Optional floorstands provide an alternative to shelf or furniture placement and allow AKOYA to become a more prominent part of the room’s design.
