Overview
Cabasse LA SPHERE EVO – Reference Wireless Active Stereo Speaker System
A Masterpiece of Sound. A Sculpture for the Home.
Some loudspeakers are designed to blend into a room. The Cabasse LA SPHERE EVO is designed to transform it.
Created to celebrate Cabasse’s 75th anniversary, LA SPHERE EVO reimagines the French manufacturer’s legendary spherical loudspeaker as a fully active, connected stereo system. It combines advanced coaxial driver technology, powerful integrated amplification, high-resolution streaming, and automatic room calibration in a striking sculptural design.
With a manufacturer-stated 10,200 watts RMS of total stereo amplification and peak output of up to 127 dB, LA SPHERE EVO is engineered to reproduce music on an extraordinary scale. Yet its electronics are integrated into the speakers themselves, eliminating the need for a separate rack of power amplifiers, DACs, and streaming components.
This is a complete reference music system conceived as a work of acoustic art.

The Evolution of an Icon
The original Cabasse LA SPHÈRE established a distinctive visual and acoustic identity through its spherical enclosure and coaxial driver arrangement.
LA SPHERE EVO carries that concept forward with a more integrated approach. Its amplification, digital conversion, streaming electronics, and processing are incorporated into the base, creating a system that requires substantially fewer external components.
Each speaker stands approximately 53 inches tall, with a spherical enclosure and base measuring about 24.4 inches across.
The five-layer matte-black finish, chrome front ring, precision-machined stainless-steel joints, and mirror-polished base create a visual presence that is unmistakably Cabasse.
The sculptural base references the Lissajous curve, a recurring symbol in the manufacturer’s design heritage.
Each LA SPHERE EVO is handmade in Brittany, France, and individually tested in Cabasse’s anechoic chamber.
Four-Way Architecture. One Cohesive Sound.
At the heart of LA SPHERE EVO is Cabasse’s TCA tri-coaxial driver, an arrangement that places the high-frequency, upper-midrange, and low-midrange drivers on a common acoustic axis.
The design is intended to support consistent sound dispersion and coherent reproduction across the frequency spectrum.
Cabasse combines this driver with two 30 cm HELD bass drivers in a push-push configuration.
The opposing woofers help counteract mechanical forces generated during bass reproduction, reducing vibration while supporting substantial low-frequency output.
Together, the TCA assembly and dual woofers form a four-way active loudspeaker system with individually controlled frequency bands.
Bass You Can Feel. Detail You Can Hear.
LA SPHERE EVO employs Cabasse’s patented HELD bass technology, designed to support substantial driver excursion and dynamic capability.
Two 30 cm HELD woofers are installed in each speaker, working alongside the tri-coaxial assembly to reproduce the full musical spectrum.
Cabasse specifies bass extension beginning at 10 Hz at −6 dB and an upper-frequency limit of 27,000 Hz for the high-frequency section.
These figures describe the manufacturer’s stated frequency-band capabilities; actual in-room response will depend on placement, room acoustics, and calibration.
10,200 Watts of Integrated Amplification
LA SPHERE EVO eliminates the need to select and match external power amplifiers.
Its active architecture provides dedicated amplification for the individual driver sections, allowing Cabasse to coordinate amplification, crossover behavior, and digital processing as one system.
The manufacturer specifies 10,200 watts RMS of total amplification for the stereo pair and maximum stereo output of 127 dB.
That is system-wide amplification—not a per-speaker rating or a conventional passive loudspeaker power-handling figure.
The integrated design also reduces the complexity of assembling a reference system: connect the speakers to power, configure the system, and select your music source.
High-Resolution Streaming, Built In
A reference system should make accessing music effortless.
LA SPHERE EVO includes integrated network streaming and is Roon Ready. Its Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections allow it to access compatible network music sources and streaming services.
The Cabasse StreamCONTROL app provides music browsing, playback management, personalized sound settings, and integration with compatible Cabasse multiroom systems.
Bluetooth offers another convenient way to play music from compatible mobile devices.
For external sources, the system also provides optical digital, analog RCA, USB, and TV connectivity.
Supported file formats include FLAC, ALAC, AIFF, MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, and DSD64/DSD128, among others. Streaming-service availability can vary by region and software version.
Automatic Room Calibration
Even a sophisticated loudspeaker interacts with its surroundings.
Cabasse’s CRCS automatic room calibration uses an integrated microphone to analyze the listening environment and adjust playback accordingly.
The system also incorporates Dynamic Fidelity Enhancer (DFE) processing, which adapts reproduction in response to listening level, musical content, and dynamics.
Customizable tonal-balance settings give listeners additional control over the presentation.
For a system of this scale, careful positioning and calibration remain essential. The Grid HiFi can assist with planning speaker placement and configuring the system for the listening room.
A Numbered Edition Celebrating 75 Years of Cabasse
LA SPHERE EVO commemorates Cabasse’s 75th anniversary with a numbered edition.
Its matte-black spherical enclosure contrasts with polished chrome details and the distinctive Lissajous-inspired base.
The result is a loudspeaker that occupies the intersection of industrial design, French craftsmanship, and advanced acoustic engineering.
Cabasse also advertises a lifetime warranty on the drivers. Warranty coverage, registration requirements, and regional terms should be confirmed when purchasing.
