Overview
Bowers & Wilkins HTM71 S3 Center Channel Speaker
700 Series • 3-Way Center Channel • Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top • Carbon Dome Tweeter • Continuum FST Midrange • Dual Aerofoil Bass Drivers • Flowport Bass Reflex
The Bowers & Wilkins HTM71 S3 is the flagship center channel loudspeaker in the 700 Series, engineered for exceptional dialogue clarity, accurate vocal reproduction and cinematic dynamics. Its sophisticated three-way design combines a 25mm Decoupled Carbon Dome tweeter, 130mm Continuum FST midrange driver and dual 130mm Aerofoil Profile bass drivers.
Featuring Bowers & Wilkins' distinctive Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top architecture, the HTM71 S3 delivers precise high-frequency reproduction and seamless integration with premium 700 Series floorstanding and bookshelf loudspeakers.
Designed for sophisticated home theaters and dedicated private cinemas, the HTM71 S3 brings the acoustic technologies of Bowers & Wilkins' high-performance stereo speakers to the most important channel in a surround sound system.
Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top Technology
The HTM71 S3 features Bowers & Wilkins' latest Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top design, positioning its 25mm Carbon Dome tweeter in a separate, mechanically decoupled aluminum enclosure above the main cabinet.
Machined from a solid block of aluminum, the elongated housing incorporates an extended tube-loading system designed to reduce unwanted resonance and improve high-frequency clarity.
The Carbon Dome tweeter raises the first breakup frequency to approximately 47kHz, supporting precise detail, natural vocal articulation and accurate spatial imaging.
Dedicated Continuum FST Midrange
At the center of the HTM71 S3 is a 130mm (5-inch) Continuum cone FST midrange driver, dedicated to reproducing the critical vocal frequencies that define dialogue intelligibility.
Bowers & Wilkins' Continuum cone technology is engineered to minimize abrupt changes in driver behavior, reducing coloration and preserving the natural character of voices and instruments.
The dedicated midrange incorporates Fixed Suspension Transducer (FST) technology, Biomimetic Suspension and mechanical decoupling, helping isolate delicate midrange information from the movement of the bass drivers.
This three-way architecture allows dialogue to remain articulate and precisely localized during complex movie soundtracks.
Dual Aerofoil Profile Bass Drivers
Two 130mm (5-inch) Aerofoil Profile bass drivers provide the dynamic foundation for the HTM71 S3.
Their variable-thickness composite diaphragms are engineered to maintain stiffness while minimizing unwanted resonance and distortion.
The result is controlled bass and lower-midrange reproduction, supporting realistic vocal weight, cinematic effects and seamless integration with compatible subwoofers.
Flowport Bass Reflex Cabinet
The HTM71 S3 uses a three-way vented enclosure with Bowers & Wilkins Flowport technology.
The specially engineered port surface helps reduce airflow turbulence and unwanted port noise during demanding low-frequency passages.
With a specified frequency response of 50Hz–28kHz (±3dB), the HTM71 S3 provides wide-bandwidth performance for premium multichannel audio systems.
Designed for Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series Home Theater
The HTM71 S3 is an ideal center channel partner for the Bowers & Wilkins 702 S3, 703 S3 and 705 S3 loudspeakers.
Its shared Carbon Dome tweeter and Continuum midrange technologies help maintain consistent tonal character as dialogue, music and effects move across the front soundstage.
For immersive Dolby Atmos and DTS systems, the HTM71 S3 can be combined with matching surround loudspeakers, architectural speakers and high-performance subwoofers.
Available in Gloss Black, Satin White and Mocha, the HTM71 S3 complements the finishes and contemporary styling of the 700 Series.
