The Bowers & Wilkins 804 D5 brings reference-grade 800 Series Diamond performance to an elegant, relatively compact floorstanding loudspeaker. Combining a 25mm Diamond Dome Tweeter-on-Top, 130mm Continuum cone FST midrange and dual 165mm Aerofoil bass drivers, the 804 D5 delivers exceptional transparency, precise imaging and authoritative low-frequency reproduction.

Its advanced reverse-wrap cabinet, aluminum midrange enclosure and upgraded Matrix bracing reduce unwanted resonance, allowing the drivers to reproduce music with remarkable accuracy. With a frequency response extending from 19Hz to 24kHz ±3dB, the 804 D5 is engineered for serious two-channel listening and reference home theater systems.

Diamond Dome Tweeter-on-Top

The 804 D5 features Bowers & Wilkins' renowned 25mm Diamond Dome tweeter, housed in a mechanically isolated Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top assembly.

Diamond's exceptional stiffness pushes the dome's breakup frequency to approximately 70kHz, well beyond the audible range. The separate tweeter enclosure minimizes interference from cabinet vibrations, supporting precise high-frequency reproduction, stable imaging and exceptional spatial detail.

Continuum FST Midrange with Biomimetic Suspension

A dedicated 130mm Continuum cone FST midrange driver reproduces vocals and instruments with exceptional clarity. Its woven composite cone controls breakup behavior for smooth, natural midrange reproduction.

The driver incorporates Biomimetic Suspension, replacing conventional fabric spiders to reduce unwanted air pressure and mechanical noise. An Anti-Resonance plug further refines the driver's behavior.

For the D5 generation, the midrange is housed within a dedicated aluminum enclosure, improving mechanical isolation and reducing coloration.

Dual Aerofoil Bass Drivers

Two 165mm Aerofoil Profile bass drivers provide powerful, controlled low-frequency reproduction. Their variable-thickness composite cones combine rigidity and low mass to maintain accuracy under demanding dynamic conditions.

The drivers operate within a carefully engineered vented enclosure incorporating Bowers & Wilkins' Flowport technology, designed to minimize turbulence and improve bass performance.

Reverse-Wrap Cabinet and Matrix Bracing

The 804 D5 uses a continuously curved reverse-wrap cabinet with a solid aluminum spine, reducing internal reflections and unwanted cabinet resonance.

An upgraded Matrix internal bracing system, aluminum Space Frame reinforcement and a rigid aluminum top section further improve structural integrity. The upgraded plinth incorporates tuned-mass damping to control mechanical vibration.

The result is a sophisticated loudspeaker enclosure designed to preserve the accuracy of the drivers rather than contribute its own sonic character.
