The Bluesound POWERNODE EDGE brings high-resolution music streaming and stereo amplification together in a remarkably compact component. With 40 watts per channel of DirectDigital amplification, BluOS multi-room audio and HDMI eARC connectivity, it offers a streamlined way to power passive loudspeakers without a separate amplifier or network streamer.

Designed for both standalone listening systems and professionally installed whole-home audio, the POWERNODE EDGE supports music streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz, two-way Bluetooth and flexible wired connections. Its included mounting bracket and half-rack-width design make it particularly useful for secondary listening rooms, architectural speaker installations and discreet equipment racks.

DirectDigital Amplification

The POWERNODE EDGE features Bluesound's DirectDigital amplifier, delivering 40 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Its compact amplification architecture is designed to drive compatible bookshelf, floorstanding and architectural loudspeakers without the need for a separate power amplifier.

With IHF dynamic power ratings of 80 watts into 4 ohms and 50 watts into 8 ohms, it offers additional headroom for musical transients. The amplifier supports loudspeakers with a minimum nominal impedance of 4 ohms.

Whether you're building a minimalist stereo system or adding a dedicated audio zone to a larger home, the POWERNODE EDGE combines amplification and streaming in a single space-saving component.

BluOS High-Resolution Music Streaming

BluOS gives the POWERNODE EDGE access to a wide selection of streaming services, internet radio stations and music stored on compatible network devices.

Support for Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Roon Ready integration allows listeners to use their preferred music platforms. The amplifier handles high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz and supports DSD256 playback.

Through the BluOS Controller app, you can browse music, manage playback and group compatible Bluesound components into synchronized listening zones. Different rooms can also play independent music, making the POWERNODE EDGE a practical building block for a whole-home audio system.

HDMI eARC for TV Audio

An HDMI eARC connection allows the POWERNODE EDGE to receive audio directly from a compatible television, providing an alternative to built-in TV speakers or a conventional soundbar.

Connect a pair of passive loudspeakers for a compact TV and music system, then add a powered subwoofer through the dedicated RCA output for greater low-frequency impact.

The POWERNODE EDGE also supports Dolby Digital decoding and can serve as the rear-channel amplifier in a compatible BluOS wireless home theater configuration. It is not a three-channel amplifier and should not be presented as a direct replacement for the larger POWERNODE N331's front left, center and right amplification.

Flexible Connectivity

The POWERNODE EDGE provides a combination analog/optical input for connecting compatible external audio sources, along with HDMI eARC for television audio.

A USB-A connection supports music playback from compatible storage devices, while dual-band Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet provide network connectivity.

Two-way Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD allows music to be received from compatible devices or transmitted to supported Bluetooth headphones. For subwoofer integration, the POWERNODE EDGE offers a wired RCA output and wireless compatibility with the Bluesound PULSE SUB+.

These connection options make it suitable for compact HiFi systems, television audio and multi-room installations without unnecessary equipment.

Compact Design for Custom Installation

At just 8.6 inches wide and 1.75 inches high, the POWERNODE EDGE is designed for installations where space is at a premium.

Its included multi-orientation mounting bracket allows it to be positioned on a wall or within suitable furniture. Its 1U height and half-rack-width dimensions also make it useful for centralized audio installations, allowing multiple units to be organized in an equipment rack.

Available in matte black and white, the compact enclosure includes touch-sensitive playback and volume controls for convenient local operation.

Smart Home Integration and Room Correction

The POWERNODE EDGE supports integration with professional control platforms including Control4, Crestron, RTI, URC, ELAN and Lutron. This makes it suitable for custom installations where music playback is managed alongside lighting, television and other home technologies.

The amplifier also supports IR remote learning, Apple AirPlay 2 and Amazon Alexa Skills.

Bluesound lists the POWERNODE EDGE as Dirac Live Ready. With the appropriate software, license and calibration equipment, Dirac Live can be used to measure and correct the interaction between the loudspeakers and the listening room.
