AudioQuest Angel RCA Interconnect Cable

Solid Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) Conductors

The defining feature of Angel is its Solid Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) conductors—AudioQuest’s highest-quality conductor metal.

Solid construction eliminates the electrical and magnetic interaction between individual strands found in conventional stranded cables. AudioQuest’s PSS silver further minimizes distortion associated with grain boundaries while maximizing linear RF Noise-Dissipation.

For systems capable of resolving extremely fine differences in low-level information, PSS represents a major step beyond even AudioQuest’s premium PSC+ copper conductors.

72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)

Angel incorporates AudioQuest’s 72V Dielectric-Bias System.

Insulation surrounding a conductor behaves as a dielectric and can absorb energy before releasing it back into the signal at different times. DBS continuously polarizes the insulation, reducing this dielectric involvement so the cable can reach a stable electrical state without relying on the music signal itself.

The DBS system also incorporates an RF Trap developed for AudioQuest’s Niagara Series, helping prevent radio-frequency noise generated around the DBS field elements from entering the signal conductors.

Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Angel uses Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation to combat radio-frequency interference.

Three alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetic materials effectively “shield the shield,” absorbing and reflecting RF energy before it reaches the layer connected to the equipment’s ground reference.

This helps prevent captured RF interference from contaminating the system ground and obscuring delicate musical information.

FEP Air-Tube Insulation

Angel surrounds its positive conductors with FEP Air-Tube insulation, creating almost no physical contact between the conductor and surrounding insulation.

Because air absorbs very little energy and FEP offers excellent dielectric characteristics, this construction minimizes dielectric interference and helps preserve transient response, dynamic contrasts, focus, and spatial information.

AudioQuest intentionally treats the negative conductors differently, using a lossy insulation approach optimized for the different electrical role of the negative connection.

Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry

Angel uses Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry, specifically engineered for single-ended RCA applications.

Instead of asking one path to perform both ground and shielding functions, AudioQuest separates the two. The resulting lower ground impedance is designed to provide cleaner, quieter performance with greater dynamic expression.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

All internal conductors are Direction-Controlled as part of AudioQuest’s RF-noise-management strategy.

Conductor orientation is controlled during manufacturing to minimize RF noise and help direct induced high-frequency energy away from sensitive audio circuitry.

Cold-Welded, Direct-Silver-Plated Pure Red Copper Terminations

Angel uses Direct-Silver-Plated Pure Red Copper RCA connectors.

AudioQuest applies silver directly to the high-purity copper without an underlying nickel layer. The connectors are then cold-welded instead of soldered, eliminating solder as another material in the signal path.

This approach extends Angel’s emphasis on conductor quality all the way through the termination.
