AudioQuest Pegasus RCA Interconnect Cable

The AudioQuest Pegasus RCA is a reference-level analog interconnect designed to preserve signal integrity while aggressively reducing radio-frequency noise. Pegasus combines Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, ZERO-Tech, Level 6 Noise-Dissipation, a Carbon/Graphene Mesh-Network, 72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS), Polypropylene Air-Tube insulation, 6% Silver-Plated RF Drain-Wires, and Hanging-Silver over Red Copper RCA plugs.

Pegasus represents a substantial step into AudioQuest’s upper-tier analog cable technology. Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors

Pegasus uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), AudioQuest’s highest-grade copper conductor material.

Solid conductors prevent the electrical and magnetic strand interaction inherent in conventional stranded cable. AudioQuest’s extreme-purity PSC+ further minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries while helping maximize linear RF Noise-Dissipation.

ZERO-Tech

One of the defining technologies in Pegasus is ZERO-Tech.

Traditional cables have a characteristic impedance that can interact with the source and load electronics. AudioQuest’s ZERO-Tech eliminates the electrostatic field between the cable’s high and low signal conductors, preventing the cable from having a characteristic impedance.

This architecture enables more linear, wide-bandwidth RF Noise-Dissipation while allowing uncompressed transient response—an important advantage in highly resolving audio systems.

Level 6 Noise-Dissipation

Pegasus employs AudioQuest’s advanced Level 6 Linear Noise-Dissipation, combining ZERO-Tech with a Carbon/Graphene resistive Mesh-Network, Direction-Controlled conductors, and Silver-Plated RF Drain-Wires.

The system is engineered to reduce RF noise generated by cellular networks, Wi-Fi, satellite communications, and countless other sources surrounding a modern audio system. Rather than merely shielding against interference, Pegasus is designed to dissipate this energy before it can mask delicate musical information.

Carbon/Graphene Mesh-Network

Alternating layers of graphene, carbon-loaded synthetic materials, and metal effectively “shield the shield.”

This sophisticated network is designed to minimize RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to the component’s ground, helping create a quieter electrical environment for the analog signal.

72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)

Pegasus incorporates AudioQuest’s 72V Dielectric-Bias System.

Cable insulation acts as a dielectric and can absorb energy before releasing it back into the signal as distortion. DBS continuously saturates and polarizes the insulation, reducing dielectric noise and linearizing its behavior.

AudioQuest describes the result as clearer, more dynamic reproduction against a quieter background.

Polypropylene Air-Tube Insulation

Pegasus uses Polypropylene Air-Tube insulation around its positive conductors.

Any solid material placed next to a conductor can absorb energy and release some of that energy later. Air absorbs almost no energy, while polypropylene has low dielectric loss. By minimizing physical contact between the conductor and insulation, the Air-Tube construction reduces dielectric-related distortion and helps preserve focus, dynamics, and transient information.

6% Silver-Plated RF Drain-Wires

Pegasus incorporates Direction-Controlled 6% Silver-Plated RF Drain-Wires.

These drain wires provide an efficient path for dissipating induced radio-frequency noise and work as part of the cable’s overall Level 6 Noise-Dissipation architecture.

Copper-Plated RF-Draining Barrels

Noise management continues through the RCA connector assemblies.

Pegasus uses grounded Copper-Plated RF-Draining Barrels to prevent the metal connector housings from capacitively coupling RF energy into the signal conductors. This allows the cable’s Noise-Dissipation strategy to continue through the termination itself.

Hanging-Silver over Red Copper RCA Plugs

Pegasus uses AudioQuest’s premium Hanging-Silver directly over extreme-purity Red Copper RCA plugs.

Rather than using conventional tumbled silver plating, AudioQuest applies its Hanging-Silver directly to the high-purity copper base material. The objective is uncompromised signal transfer through one of the most critical points in the cable.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

All internal conductors are Direction-Controlled to reduce RF noise. AudioQuest controls conductor orientation during manufacturing so induced RF energy can be directed away from sensitive circuitry as efficiently as possible.
