AudioQuest NRG-X3 — AC Power Cable

Better power delivery starts with a better connection. The AudioQuest NRG-X3 is an affordable upgrade over conventional stock power cords, designed to reduce distortion and RF noise before they reach your audio or video components.

NRG-X3 combines Semi-Solid Concentric Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors with AudioQuest’s Direction-Controlled Conductors, providing a cleaner, quieter power connection for everything from DACs and streamers to powered speakers and other A/V electronics.

Long-Grain Copper Conductors

AudioQuest uses high-purity Long-Grain Copper (LGC) throughout the NRG-X3.

All metal conductors contain grain boundaries. AudioQuest uses LGC to minimize the distortion associated with those boundaries, providing a cleaner electrical path and helping connected equipment perform with greater clarity and less unwanted noise.

Semi-Solid Concentric Construction

Rather than using a conventional bundle of randomly positioned strands, the NRG-X3 features Semi-Solid Concentric Conductors.

The individual strands are packed tightly and maintain their position within the conductor bundle. AudioQuest says this construction significantly reduces strand interaction—a source of dynamic distortion found in conventional stranded cables.

It's an important distinction at this price point and brings some of AudioQuest's fundamental cable-design philosophy into the entry-level NRG series.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

Every internal conductor in the NRG-X3 is Direction-Controlled.

AudioQuest controls conductor orientation to manage variations in RF impedance and help induced radio-frequency noise drain away from sensitive electronics. This forms part of AudioQuest's broader Noise-Dissipation approach used throughout its cable lineup.

C13 and C5 Connections

Unlike the two-pole C7 connection used by the NRG-X2, the NRG-X3 is available with grounded C13 and C5 component connections.

The IEC-C13 version is compatible with the standard three-pin power inlet found on a huge range of audio and video equipment.

The IEC-C5, often called a "cloverleaf" connection, accommodates compatible components using the smaller three-pole inlet.

For the U.S. market, both terminate in a 3-prong grounded wall plug.
