AudioQuest NRG-X2 — AC Power Cable

A simple power-cable upgrade for components that use a two-pole C7 connection. The AudioQuest NRG-X2 replaces the basic detachable power cord supplied with many DACs, streamers, powered speakers, game consoles, and other A/V components with a purpose-built design focused on reducing distortion and RF noise.

NRG-X2 uses Semi-Solid Concentric Long-Grain Copper conductors and AudioQuest's Direction-Controlled Conductors, bringing several of the company's core cable technologies into an accessible power cable.

Long-Grain Copper Conductors

AudioQuest uses high-purity Long-Grain Copper (LGC) in the NRG-X2.

Compared with conventional copper, LGC is designed to reduce the number of grain boundaries encountered by the electrical signal. AudioQuest's objective is to minimize the distortion associated with those boundaries and provide a cleaner path for power to reach the connected component.

Semi-Solid Concentric Construction

NRG-X2 doesn't use an ordinary random-strand conductor arrangement.

Its Semi-Solid Concentric Conductors are tightly packed so that the individual strands maintain their position within the bundle. AudioQuest says this construction significantly reduces strand interaction, which it identifies as a source of dynamic distortion in conventional stranded cables.

For an entry point into AudioQuest's power-cable lineup, this is an important distinction—the NRG-X2 benefits from conductor architecture derived from the same design philosophy used throughout AudioQuest's higher-performance cables.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

All of the NRG-X2's internal conductors are Direction-Controlled.

AudioQuest controls conductor orientation as part of its Noise-Dissipation approach, with the goal of directing induced RF noise away from the connected equipment rather than allowing that noise to contribute to distortion within the system.

Designed for C7 Components

The NRG-X2 uses a two-pole IEC-C7 connector, commonly referred to as a "figure-8" power connection.
