The AudioQuest Niagara 7000 is the flagship of the Niagara Series and AudioQuest's most advanced AC power noise-dissipation system. Designed by Garth Powell for reference-level two-channel audio and home theater systems, it combines exceptionally high-current delivery, wide-bandwidth noise dissipation, patented ground-noise reduction, and non-sacrificial equipment protection.

Where the Niagara 7000 separates itself from the Niagara 3000 and 5000 is its use of two patented Dielectric-Biased Symmetrical Power Isolation Transformers for source components. These work alongside AudioQuest's Level-X Ultra-Linear Noise-Dissipation technology and Transient Power Correction to address both sensitive source electronics and demanding power amplifiers within one chassis.

Dielectric-Biased Isolation Transformers

The Niagara 7000's defining feature is its pair of Dielectric-Biased Symmetrical Power Isolation Transformers.

Traditional isolation transformers can introduce nonlinear distortion of their own. AudioQuest developed its dielectric-bias technology to reduce these distortions while increasing the bandwidth and efficiency of the transformer's noise-dissipation system. The two transformers serve the Niagara 7000's source-component outlet banks, providing dedicated AC treatment for sensitive analog, digital, and video electronics.

90+ Amp Transient Power Correction

High-current power amplifiers present a very different challenge from source components.

Rather than placing large amplifiers behind conventional current-limiting filtration, the Niagara 7000's passive/active Transient Power Correction circuit provides an instantaneous reservoir of more than 90 amps peak for up to 25 milliseconds.

AudioQuest designed the circuit for amplifiers using either linear or switching power supplies, allowing the Niagara 7000 to reduce line impedance while supplying the short-duration current demands associated with dynamic musical peaks.

Level-X Ultra-Linear Noise Dissipation

The Niagara 7000 provides unusually broad AC noise filtering:

Differential-mode filtering:
More than 23 octaves, from 3 kHz to 1 GHz, with greater than 24 dB reduction.

Common-mode filtering:
20 octaves, from 60 Hz to 100 MHz, with greater than 30 dB reduction.

AudioQuest designs the system to maintain a linear response across varying line and load impedances rather than achieving maximum filtering only under ideal laboratory conditions.

Non-Sacrificial Protection

The Niagara 7000 is also designed to protect the equipment connected to it.

Its non-sacrificial surge protection can withstand repeated AC surges and spikes of up to 6000V/3000A without sustaining damage, according to AudioQuest. This means the protection circuitry isn't designed as a one-time sacrificial device that must be replaced after performing its job.

Technical Specifications

AudioQuest currently lists the North American Niagara 7000 at $12,500. The manufacturer also specifies a five-year limited warranty for the Niagara 7000.
