Overview
AudioQuest Niagara 1200 Power Conditioner – 7-Outlet Low-Z Power Noise-Dissipation System (open box)
The AudioQuest Niagara 1200 is a high-performance AC power conditioner designed to reduce electrical noise, protect valuable audio equipment, and optimize power delivery in premium stereo and home theater systems. Featuring seven AC outlets, patented Ground-Noise Dissipation, Level-X Linear Noise-Dissipation Technology, and non-sacrificial surge protection, the Niagara 1200 brings advanced AudioQuest power conditioning to a compact, versatile chassis.
IMPORTANT: AC POWER CABLE NOT INCLUDED. The Niagara 1200 requires a separate compatible IEC power cable, sold separately.
Key Features
-
7 AC Outlets: Five linear-filtered outlets for source components and two dedicated high-current outlets for amplifiers and powered subwoofers.
-
Patented Ground-Noise Dissipation: Reduces unwanted ground-borne noise that can compromise audio system performance.
-
Level-X Linear Noise-Dissipation: Wide-bandwidth filtering designed to minimize radio-frequency interference and AC-line noise.
-
Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection: Designed to withstand repeated 6,000V/3,000A surge events without degradation of protective components.
-
Automatic Over-Voltage Shutdown: Disconnects connected equipment during extreme voltage conditions and automatically resets when safe power returns.
-
Low-Z Power Architecture: Low-impedance design helps preserve current delivery to connected components.
-
Three Isolated Outlet Banks: Separates high-current equipment from sensitive source components.
-
15-Amp Capacity: Supports demanding audio/video systems within its rated current capacity.
-
Premium Construction: Heavy silver-plated beryllium-copper outlet contacts and low-resistance internal wiring.
-
Flexible Placement: Low-profile chassis suitable for equipment racks, shelves, or vertical installation.
Advanced AC Noise Reduction
Electrical noise from household appliances, switching power supplies, wireless devices, and other electronics can interfere with sensitive audio and video components.
The Niagara 1200 combines AudioQuest's patented Ground-Noise Dissipation System with Level-X Linear Noise-Dissipation Technology to reduce unwanted interference across a wide frequency range.
Its filtering architecture provides more than 24dB of transverse-mode noise reduction from 20kHz to 1GHz under specified test conditions, helping create a cleaner electrical environment for high-resolution music playback and home theater systems.
Dedicated High-Current and Source Outlets
The Niagara 1200 features seven AC outlets arranged into three isolated banks.
Two high-current outlets are designed for power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, and powered subwoofers. Their low-impedance design accommodates components with demanding current requirements.
Five linear-filtered outlets provide advanced noise reduction for preamplifiers, DACs, network streamers, disc players, and other sensitive source components.
This dedicated outlet configuration helps manage electrical noise while maintaining appropriate power delivery throughout the system.
Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection
Unlike conventional power strips that rely on sacrificial surge-suppression components, the AudioQuest Niagara 1200 features a non-sacrificial protection system engineered to withstand repeated qualifying surge events.
Its automatic over-voltage shutdown circuit disconnects power when incoming voltage reaches approximately 140V AC and automatically restores operation once voltage returns to a safe range.
