Overview
AudioQuest Mistral — Bulk AC Power Cable
High-performance AC power cable for custom installations. The AudioQuest Mistral is a bulk power cable designed for professionally terminated audio/video installations, giving integrators and system designers the ability to build purpose-specific power cables while retaining AudioQuest’s advanced conductor and noise-dissipation technologies.
Unlike the pre-terminated NRG-X models we just covered, Mistral is supplied as a 50-meter / 164-foot bulk spool, making it particularly useful for custom-length cables in dedicated listening rooms, home theaters, equipment racks, and larger whole-home A/V installations.
True-Concentric PSC+ and LGC Conductors
Mistral represents a meaningful step up in conductor design.
AudioQuest combines its highest-purity Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) with Long-Grain Copper (LGC) in a True-Concentric conductor geometry. The outer portion of the conductor uses PSC+, while LGC forms the conductor core.
True-Concentric construction improves upon AudioQuest’s Semi-Solid Concentric geometry by maintaining an even more precisely controlled relationship between the individual strands. AudioQuest says this further reduces strand interaction, lowering distortion and improving resolution.
Perfect-Surface Copper+
The addition of PSC+ is one of the most important differences between Mistral and AudioQuest's more basic power cables.
AudioQuest's Perfect-Surface Copper+ undergoes additional processing intended to produce an exceptionally smooth, pure conductor surface. Combined with Long-Grain Copper and the True-Concentric geometry, the design minimizes distortion associated with grain boundaries and conductor interaction.
For a system built around higher-performance electronics, Mistral provides a substantially more sophisticated conductor architecture than an ordinary bulk AC cable.
RF/ND-Tech Noise Dissipation
AC power cables don't exist in an RF-free environment. Their ground conductors can act as antennas, picking up radio-frequency noise that can ultimately find its way into sensitive audio and video circuitry.
Mistral incorporates AudioQuest's RF/ND-Tech (Radio-Frequency Noise-Dissipation Technology).
The technology uses a common-mode phase-cancelling array together with proprietary dielectric materials and differential linear filtering to reduce induced RF noise over a wide bandwidth.
The objective is a quieter electrical environment without restricting the current demanded by the connected component.
Direction-Controlled Conductors
All internal conductors in Mistral are Direction-Controlled.
AudioQuest controls conductor orientation to manage RF impedance variation and direct induced noise away from the connected electronics. This directionality is an integral part of the company's overall Noise-Dissipation strategy.
Uncompressed Current Delivery
Mistral isn't limited to low-current source components.
AudioQuest specifically designs it as an upgrade for a wide range of constant-current and variable-current components, including both high-quality source electronics and amplifiers.
That versatility makes Mistral particularly useful for custom systems where several different components require properly sized, professionally terminated power cables.
Built for Custom Installation
This is where Mistral differs significantly from most AudioQuest power cables.
Rather than being sold primarily as a finished cable in predetermined lengths, Mistral is offered as a bulk spool for custom use.
For a professional installation, that allows power cables to be built to the length actually required by the system—reducing unnecessary excess cable behind racks while providing the flexibility needed for larger equipment rooms and custom cabinetry.

The Grid HiFi
The AudioQuest Mistral makes particular sense when the system itself is being designed rather than simply assembled.
At The Grid HiFi, our work extends beyond individual components to complete two-channel systems, private cinemas, equipment racks, and integrated whole-home A/V. Mistral gives us the flexibility to specify custom-length AudioQuest power cables as part of that larger system design instead of forcing every installation around predetermined cable lengths.
For systems requiring a complete power strategy, we can also match Mistral with the appropriate AudioQuest PowerQuest or Niagara power conditioning and determine where stepping into AudioQuest's higher-level pre-terminated power cables makes sense.
FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
Do you price match?
Yes. We match any authorised dealer, including big-box retailers. If you find the same product at a lower price, contact us and we'll match it.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free shipping on every order, with 2-day delivery available on most products. Easy returns and exchanges are included.
Where is your showroom?
We're at 6362 Alder Drive, Houston, Texas. The showroom lets you hear and compare reference-level systems in person before making any decisions. If you're considering a larger purchase or installation, it's well worth the visit.
Can I buy online without visiting the showroom?
Yes. The full product range is available through the online store with free nationwide shipping. For more complex system builds, speaking with one of our advisers first tends to lead to a better result.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Special financing is available through the BrandSource Credit Card for qualifying purchases, allowing you to spread payments over time with no annual fee. Promotional rebate savings are also available periodically. See the financing page for full details.
Do you install systems as well as sell equipment?
Yes — installation is central to what we do. We design and install whole-home audio and video, home theaters, media rooms, outdoor audio, lighting and motorised shades, and full smart home automation.
Do you provide support after installation?
Yes. We provide ongoing service and support to ensure systems continue performing as intended — not just on installation day, but over the long term.
