Solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) Conductors

Golden Gate uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) rather than conventional stranded copper. AudioQuest’s proprietary processing is designed to maintain an exceptionally smooth, pure conductor surface throughout manufacturing, reducing distortion associated with grain boundaries and surface irregularities.

The use of solid conductors also eliminates strand interaction—a significant source of electrical and magnetic distortion in conventional stranded cables. The goal is a cleaner, smoother, and more natural presentation of the original signal.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Shielding a cable is only part of controlling noise. Conventional shields can capture radio-frequency interference and then drain that energy into the component's ground reference.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation

Golden Gate employs Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry, specifically engineered for single-ended RCA connections.

Instead of using a single path to perform both ground and shielding duties, AudioQuest separates the ground and shield. The design provides lower ground impedance and is intended to deliver cleaner, quieter, and more dynamic performance.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

Every internal conductor in Golden Gate is Direction-Controlled. AudioQuest determines conductor orientation during manufacturing as part of its approach to minimizing RF noise within the cable.

Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated RCA Terminations

Golden Gate uses cold-welded, gold-plated RCA connectors. Instead of soldering the conductor to the connector, AudioQuest uses a high-pressure connection technique that eliminates solder from the signal path.

AudioQuest also uses stamped rather than machined ground shells, allowing the connector material to be selected for low distortion rather than simply for ease of machining.
