Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors

Red River uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), AudioQuest’s best copper conductor material. The exceptionally smooth and pure surface of PSC+ is designed to minimize distortion caused by grain boundaries within conventional copper.

The solid-conductor construction also eliminates electrical and magnetic interaction between individual strands—one of the distortion mechanisms AudioQuest specifically seeks to avoid in its analog cables.

Triple-Balanced Geometry

Red River employs AudioQuest’s Triple-Balanced Geometry, incorporating a separate ground-reference conductor so that the cable’s shield does not have to serve as an inferior signal conductor.

The three-conductor architecture provides the positive and negative signals with equally high-quality, low-distortion conducting paths. This geometry is retained whether Red River is terminated with RCA or XLR connectors.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Direction-Controlled Conductors

All internal conductors in Red River are Direction-Controlled. AudioQuest controls conductor orientation as part of its broader Noise-Dissipation strategy, directing induced RF noise away from areas where it can contribute to distortion.

Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations

Red River uses cold-welded, gold-plated RCA terminations. Rather than introducing solder into the signal path, AudioQuest uses a high-pressure connection between the cable and connector.

This construction eliminates solder as another potential source of distortion while gold-plated contact surfaces provide dependable conductivity and corrosion resistance.
