Overview

Aurender ACS100 Content Server, CD Ripper & Music Library Manager

The Aurender ACS100 is a compact content server, automatic CD ripper and music-library management system designed to centralize local music storage for one or multiple Aurender systems. It combines a TEAC slot-loading optical drive, metadata editing, dual user-installable storage bays, 240GB NVMe system/cache SSD and double-isolated Gigabit Ethernet in a half-width machined-aluminum chassis. Aurender Music

The ACS100 is primarily a library-management companion, not Aurender's high-performance digital transport. Its purpose is to rip, organize, edit, store and serve a music collection while allowing the primary Aurender player to concentrate on playback. Aurender Music

Automatic Lossless CD Ripping

The ACS100 uses a TEAC slot-loading optical drive and Aurender's customized CD-ripping engine to create lossless, error-corrected digital files from a physical CD collection.

For large archival projects, it is also compatible with the optional Acronova Nimbie AutoLoader, allowing automated batch CD ripping. Aurender Music

ACS Manager Library Management

The dedicated Aurender ACS Manager app provides deeper control over locally stored music without requiring a traditional computer.

Library-management functions include:

  • Metadata editing
  • File and folder management
  • Moving and renaming files
  • Deleting files
  • Library organization
  • CD-ripping management

Playback and general Aurender operation are handled through Aurender Conductor, while ACS Manager handles the more advanced library-maintenance functions. Aurender Music

Dual User-Installable Storage Bays

The ACS100 provides two 2.5-inch HDD/SSD bays. Storage drives are user-installable and are not included with the standard unit.

Aurender currently specifies support for up to two 8TB SSDs, allowing as much as 16TB of internal music-library storage. Aurender Music

A separate 240GB NVMe SSD is dedicated to the operating system and playback cache.

Central Server for Multiple Aurender Systems

The ACS100 can operate as the central music repository for multiple Aurender players connected to the same local network.

For example, an ACS100 can hold the primary library while an N20, N200, N150, A15 or another Aurender player accesses that library over the network. The ACS100 and player do not require a direct Ethernet connection; they simply need to reside on the same LAN. Aurender Music

This separates storage, ripping and library-management duties from the primary playback component.

USB Digital Output

The ACS100 includes a basic USB 2.0 digital audio output capable of connecting directly to a compatible USB DAC.

It supports up to:

PCM: 32-bit / 384kHz
DSD via DoP: DSD128
Native DSD: DSD512

However, this is an important distinction: Aurender explicitly states that the ACS100 does not contain its dedicated filtered and isolated USB Audio output and is not intended to be the company's high-performance digital transport. For a reference listening system, Aurender recommends using another Aurender player as the primary digital source. Aurender Music

Double-Isolated Gigabit Ethernet

A double-isolated Gigabit Ethernet port uses two stages of transformer-based isolation to help filter electrical noise from the network connection.

The ACS100 requires a wired Ethernet connection to the local network for normal Aurender operation and communication with the Conductor and ACS Manager apps. Aurender Music

Supercapacitor UPS

An integrated supercapacitor-based uninterruptible power supply provides controlled shutdown protection in the event of unexpected power loss, helping protect the operating system and stored data. Aurender Music

Streaming & Roon

The ACS100 supports Aurender's integrated streaming ecosystem, including TIDAL, Qobuz, Internet Radio, Spotify Connect and AirPlay. Aurender also currently lists the ACS100 among its Roon Ready digital-output models. Aurender Music

ACS100 vs. ACS10

The distinction is worth making clear on the product page.

The ACS100 is primarily the economical CD-ripping, storage and library-management hub. It uses an external switch-mode power supply and basic USB digital output.

The ACS10 adds a full linear power supply, Aurender's dedicated USB Audio output and more extensive network architecture, making the ACS10 better suited to simultaneously serving as a high-performance digital transport. Aurender Music

For someone who already owns a high-performance Aurender music server and primarily needs CD ripping, centralized storage and library management, the ACS100 is the more focused solution.

Aurender ACS100 at The Grid HiFi

The Aurender ACS100 is particularly useful for large local music collections: rip existing CDs, edit metadata, maintain the library and make the collection available to Aurender players throughout the home.

The Grid HiFi can configure the ACS100 with the appropriate SSD storage capacity, Aurender music server, network architecture and DAC for a complete digital music system.
