Overview

Aurender A1000 Analog Music Server, Streamer & DAC

The Aurender A1000 is a next-generation analog-output music server, network streamer, DAC and digital preamplifier built for modern high-end systems. It combines a dual-mono AKM AK4490REQ DAC, full linear power supply, user-installable internal SSD/HDD storage, variable RCA analog output and dedicated USB/coaxial digital outputs with HDMI ARC, USB Audio input, Bluetooth aptX HD, Google Cast, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect and AirPlay. Aurender

Supporting PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, the A1000 is substantially more than an entry-level streamer. It can serve as the complete digital front end of a two-channel system while also integrating a television, computer, Bluetooth source and external digital components.

Dual-Mono AKM AK4490REQ DAC

The A1000 uses two AKM AK4490REQ DACs in a dual-mono configuration, giving the left and right channels dedicated conversion architecture.

Its internal analog stage supports:

  • PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz
  • Native DSD up to DSD512
  • Variable analog output
  • RCA line-level connectivity

This dual-mono implementation is notable at the A1000's position in the Aurender range, bringing architecture previously associated with higher-level A-Series models into a more compact platform. Aurender

Full Linear Toroidal Power Supply

Aurender equips the A1000 with a full linear toroidal power supply, rather than relying on the switch-mode power architecture common to compact network streamers.

The power architecture supports the server, DAC and output circuitry within the A1000's machined-aluminum chassis while maintaining a relatively low 15-watt playback power consumption. Aurender

HDMI ARC for TV Integration

One of the A1000's most important additions is HDMI ARC.

Connect a compatible television to the A1000's ARC input and TV audio can play through the same high-end stereo system used for music. HDMI CEC support allows the television remote to control A1000 volume, while the A1000 can automatically power on and off with the television when operating in ARC mode. Aurender

For a premium two-channel room that also serves as the primary television system, this eliminates the need to add an AV receiver simply to accommodate TV audio.

USB Audio Input for Computers & Digital Sources

The A1000 adds a USB Type-B Audio input, allowing a compatible computer or digital source to access its internal dual-mono DAC directly.

Its complete digital-input suite includes USB Audio, HDMI ARC, coaxial S/PDIF and optical/Toslink, making the A1000 significantly more flexible as a system hub than earlier Aurender analog-output players. Aurender

Bluetooth aptX HD

Integrated Bluetooth with aptX HD provides convenient direct playback from phones, tablets and other compatible devices.

The A1000 can maintain connections with up to two Bluetooth devices, making casual playback straightforward without requiring the Aurender Conductor app for every listening session. Aurender

Google Cast, TIDAL Connect & Spotify Connect

The A1000 expands Aurender playback beyond its traditional Conductor interface.

It supports TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect, plus Google Cast Audio, allowing compatible apps to send music directly to the A1000.

Aurender specifically lists Google Cast compatibility with services including Qobuz, YouTube, Deezer, Bugs and Melon, with Cast playback supported up to 24-bit/96kHz. AirPlay is also supported. Aurender

The A1000 can additionally operate as a UPnP network renderer with compatible controller applications such as JPLAY, mConnect and BubbleUPnP. Aurender

Dedicated USB & Coaxial Digital Outputs

The A1000 can function as a complete analog-output streamer or as a digital transport feeding an external DAC.

Digital outputs include:

USB Audio 2.0
RCA coaxial S/PDIF

USB output supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, preserving an upgrade path to an external high-end DAC without replacing the A1000 as the music server and streaming platform. Aurender

User-Installable Internal Music Storage

A rear-accessible 2.5-inch HDD/SSD bay allows local music storage to be added when required. Users focused entirely on streaming can operate the A1000 without installing an internal library drive.

The server architecture uses:

32GB eMMC system storage
120GB NVMe playback cache
4GB DRAM
2.0GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor

Aurender currently specifies a maximum library database of approximately 150,000 audio files when combining local and scanned external storage. Aurender

Aurender Conductor

The A1000 remains fully integrated with Aurender Conductor, providing Aurender's dedicated interface for browsing local libraries, streaming services, creating queues and playlists, controlling playback and configuring the player.

A Gigabit Ethernet connection provides the primary network interface, while a rear USB 3.0 data port accommodates external music storage. Aurender

Variable RCA Analog Output & 12V Trigger

Variable RCA analog outputs allow the A1000 to feed a conventional preamplifier or integrated amplifier, or connect directly to a compatible power amplifier.

A 12V trigger output can control compatible downstream electronics, allowing a streamlined A1000-based system to power connected amplification automatically. Aurender

6.9-Inch IPS Color Display & BLE Remote

The machined-aluminum front panel incorporates a 6.9-inch 1280 × 480 wide IPS color LCD with album information, playlists, network information and playback status.

Physical controls provide direct access to power, input, output, display mode, playback and volume. Aurender also supplies a Bluetooth LE remote control with dedicated buttons for input and output selection. Aurender

Where the A1000 Fits in the Aurender Lineup

The A1000 brings Aurender's analog-output platform into a more modern, lifestyle-friendly system architecture. Its combination of a dual-mono AKM DAC, local music storage, USB digital output and Aurender Conductor is joined by connectivity that matters in contemporary systems: HDMI ARC, USB Audio input, aptX HD Bluetooth, Google Cast, TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect.

Compared with the A200, the A1000's appeal is less about simply moving up or down an audiophile hierarchy and more about system versatility. It is particularly compelling for a high-end two-channel room that needs to accommodate music streaming, local files, television audio, computers and mobile devices through one source component.
