Coltrane Quintet Extreme is the second new model we’re introducing in 2025, alongside Coltrane Supreme Extreme. It brings much of the same thinking and technology into a single-cabinet design — built to perform in real rooms, without compromise.

At its core are the same drivers as our flagship: a 1″ pure diamond tweeter, a 3″ pure diamond high-midrange, and a 7″ beryllium midrange — the largest we’ve ever used. These components offer extraordinary speed, resolution and control, and they’ve set a new benchmark for us. We knew early on that everything else would have to rise to meet them.

So we reworked the crossover from scratch — a first-order design with custom-built components, chosen and tuned by ear. Internal wiring is Jorma Paragon throughout, delivering the highest possible signal purity.

Coltrane Quintet Extreme distils the essence of our flagship technology into an extreme upgrade. Limited to an edition of ten, Coltrane Quintet Extreme features the same custom pure diamond tweeter, diamond high midrange and the largest pure beryllium midrange driver ever created, offering exceptional control and dynamic range.

Aluminium sandwich bass drivers ensure deep, powerful bass, while the first-order crossover and custom-built crossover components guarantee clarity. The multi-layer cabinet construction enhances resonance control, allowing for a distortion-free performance that faithfully reproduces every detail.

Custom speaker terminals and Jorma Paragon internal wiring ensures exceptional signal fidelity, while Marten Isolators isolate the speaker from the floor to maintain pure sound reproduction. Coltrane Quintet Extreme is designed for those who demand the finest in dynamic range, transparency, and accuracy, delivering a performance that draws you into the music like never before.

The cabinet is a multi-layer laminate of carbon fibre, aluminium, wood and fibreboard, designed to be acoustically inert. Underneath, mirror-polished stainless steel stands support our Marten Isolators, which decouple the speaker from the room and allow the system to breathe. The result is a soundstage that’s focused and precise — with instruments and vocals locked into place, and space around them that feels natural and three-dimensional.

The bass section features two 10″ aluminium sandwich woofers with long excursion and tight response, giving the speaker real low-end authority without smearing the detail above. The frequency response reaches from 18 Hz to 60 kHz with a sensitivity of 89 dB — a solid match for a wide range of high-end electronics.

We premiered Coltrane Quintet Extreme at High End Munich 2025, with a full demonstration setup. For us, it felt like the perfect companion to Coltrane Supreme Extreme — not just a scaled-down version, but a statement in its own right.

The result is a speaker that’s immersive and honest. Treble is precise and open. Midrange is full of colour and control. And the bass has real weight without ever feeling heavy-handed. It’s finely balanced and full of character — the kind of speaker that makes you want to keep playing one more track.
