The Wisdom Audio Sage Series C225i brings the scale and refinement of a reference loudspeaker into an architectural design. Combining a 72-inch planar magnetic line source with 24 high-output woofers, it is engineered for discerning music listeners, expansive living spaces, and private cinemas where exceptional performance must coexist with the interior design.

Unlike a conventional in-wall speaker, the C225i uses three tall, slender columns: a central planar magnetic section flanked by two dedicated bass columns. This arrangement delivers a substantial radiating area and powerful bass without requiring a traditional freestanding enclosure.

With a published frequency response extending to 25 Hz, 96 dB sensitivity, and peak power handling exceeding 1,000 watts, the C225i is designed for serious listening—not simply background audio.

72 Inches of Planar Magnetic Detail

At the heart of the C225i are three 24-inch planar magnetic drivers, creating a 72-inch line-source array.

Wisdom Audio's lightweight PEEK-film diaphragm technology is designed for rapid acceleration and detailed reproduction. The planar magnetic section spans six octaves, allowing it to reproduce a broad range of musical information with the speed and clarity associated with the company's driver technology.

The extended line source also controls vertical dispersion, reducing unwanted interaction with the floor and ceiling while maintaining broad coverage across the listening area.

For large, open-concept rooms or theaters with multiple seating rows, this approach helps deliver a more consistent listening experience over distance.

Twenty-Four Woofers. Serious Bass.

The C225i incorporates 24 high-pressure dynamic woofers distributed across its two bass columns.

Wisdom Audio states that their combined bass capability is equivalent to an 18-inch woofer, allowing the system to deliver substantial low-frequency performance from comparatively narrow architectural enclosures.

The result is a loudspeaker with a manufacturer-specified frequency response of 25 Hz–20 kHz, measured within ±2 dB relative to the target curve.

This is a full-range architectural design intended to reproduce music and cinematic content with genuine scale, while preserving the visual simplicity of an in-wall installation.

A Five-Channel Active System

The C225i is not a conventional passive in-wall speaker. It requires five channels of amplification, an external active crossover, and digital signal processing.

This architecture gives the system designer control over the individual loudspeaker sections, allowing amplification, crossover behavior, equalization, and room integration to be addressed during commissioning.

The planar magnetic section presents a nominal impedance of 3 ohms, while the woofer sections are rated at 6 ohms. Amplifier selection must account for these requirements.

Proper system engineering is essential to realizing the C225i's intended performance.

Architectural Freedom Without Compromise

Each of the C225i's three columns measures approximately 76.5 inches tall, 8.2 inches wide, and just 3.8 inches deep.

The slim grilles can be painted to complement the surrounding décor, and custom-length grilles are available for installations requiring a more tailored appearance.

Whether installed in a dedicated listening room or incorporated into a private cinema, the C225i allows substantial loudspeaker performance to be integrated into the architecture rather than placed in front of it.

Wisdom Audio also offers the C225m on-wall version for projects where an in-wall installation is not practical.

Important installation detail: The C225i consists of three separate columns, not one 24.66-inch-wide enclosure. Each column is 8.22 inches wide. The overall installed width depends on the spacing and placement specified in the system design.
