Transrotor Dark Star Silver Shadow Turntable

gramofon Transrotor Dark Star Silver Shadow

Where Light Meets Dark. Where Engineering Meets Art.

The Transrotor Dark Star Silver Shadow brings a striking new dimension to the Dark Star family. Its combination of matte-black POM and hand-polished aluminum creates a dramatic contrast, but the choice of materials goes far beyond appearance.

POM and aluminum have different resonance characteristics. By combining them, Transrotor creates a carefully engineered foundation designed to control unwanted mechanical energy and support precise vinyl playback.

The result is a turntable that looks unmistakably Transrotor: substantial, meticulously constructed, and beautifully restrained.

Five Aluminum Flyweights. One Remarkable Platter.

The Silver Shadow's platter is one of its defining engineering features.

Constructed from POM, it incorporates five substantial aluminum flyweights. These add rotational mass, helping the platter maintain consistent rotation as the stylus tracks the record groove.

It's an elegant example of Transrotor's design philosophy: the details that make a turntable visually distinctive also serve a mechanical purpose.

Combined with its substantial chassis and precision belt-drive architecture, the platter forms the heart of a serious high-performance analog playback system.

A Study in Contrasting Materials

The Silver Shadow combines the understated appearance of matte-black POM with the brilliance of hand-polished aluminum.

Beyond its visual appeal, this pairing brings together materials with different resonant behaviors. The construction is intended to help control unwanted vibrations and provide a stable environment for the tonearm and cartridge.

An aluminum record weight completes the turntable's mechanical equipment, helping secure the record against the platter during playback.

Precision Belt-Drive Engineering

Bot Verification

The Dark Star Silver Shadow uses a belt-drive system with a separately positioned motor.

Keeping the motor apart from the main turntable structure helps limit the direct transmission of motor vibration into the platter and tonearm assembly.

The turntable can be configured with a compatible Transrotor Konstant power supply, allowing you to select the motor-control solution appropriate for your system.

An Analog Platform That Can Evolve

Transrotor Dark Star Silver Shadow | HiFi emotion Online Selection

The Dark Star Silver Shadow is a configurable turntable, allowing you to choose a compatible tonearm, cartridge, and power supply rather than committing to a predetermined combination.

It also offers a path to the Dark Star Silver Shadow Reference. The Reference configuration adds a second base assembly, creating a more substantial double-chassis platform.

That flexibility makes the Silver Shadow appealing to listeners who want to develop their analog systems over time.

A note on Reference imagery: I haven't verified a separate official photograph of the Silver Shadow Reference. The images in this listing are intended to show the standard Silver Shadow only; they should not be reused as labeled Reference photographs without confirmation.
